Last coat, just top to bottom all edges were fully coated up by the time the last coat went on, nib down between coats too.
This is the last coat of THREE top coats.
Bare plaster mist coated with Isomat 2in1.
Uc was Isomat Isolac Aqua Primer.
Then top coats Isolac Aqua Satin, easy wipe down with kids and dogs in the house.
FF 310 spray tip.

Following on from last week’s post about Wallrock Damp Stop, it’s worth remembering what came before it: traditional Pitch Foil.
And if you ever used Pitch Foil, you’ll know exactly why Damp Stop was such a welcome upgrade.

Pitch Foil was never a friendly product.
You cut it to size, then wet the brown paper backing with a sponge just enough to help the waterproof adhesive grab.
No soaking time — it’s foil, it’s not expanding.
But you had to use the correct waterproof adhesive, because ordinary paste would soften the moment it met any damp coming through the wall. That defeated the whole point.

When applying it, you overlapped each piece slightly to create a proper seal.
And you took real care around sockets — power off if you weren’t confident.
Once it was on, you left it to fully dry before lining over the top.

Why did we use it?
Because old buildings come with problems you can’t fix without tearing half the house down.
Historic damp patches, chimney breast staining, soot bleed, mystery moisture that’s been there since the 1930s — Pitch Foil was the decorator’s way of holding it back so the finish stayed clean.

And yes, if there’s a leaking rainwater pipe outside, fix that first.
But anyone who’s worked on older houses knows some damp issues simply can’t be traced or rectified without major demolition.
Pitch Foil was the cleanest, most practical solution we had.

Wallrock Damp Stop is today’s version of that fix — easier to use, more stable, and far more decorator‑friendly.
But it’s built on the same principle:
stop the historic staining from ruining the finish, without rebuilding the wall.

I still find it interesting that any video I do about peel stop and gardz always gets plenty of views.

Is it the only product out there to do what they do?
No.

But its easily available.
I think, easy to understand where and when to use them.

Yes many still don't know what product to use where.

Thankfully, Bruce explained it all to me... again... for my viewers.
