Jessie McGreevy Design Hello, I’m Jessie, an interior designer living in the UK. I love all things design and want to help you beautify, refine and design your space.

Designing this room I needed to take into consideration a number of things:
- it’s an entry point, so having storage for coats, shoes and other bits is essential.
- a space for working.
- a secondary place (this is a sunroom, not a living room) to relax and unwind.

We went through a number of design styles and picked bits and pieces from them that the client liked and then I set to work creating this initial moodboard (not everything will be identical in the final design, but we will find a good match, this was just to make sure I was on the right track.)

I’ve already been sourcing items from this board, so it will be a matter of finding everything needed, finalising paint and then sending over the design package.

I’ve notices more and more people mentioning their home doesn’t have overhead lighting, to some of us “no big light” people this is a dream come true, but I also understand that not all of us like to linger in the low lights.
So for those of us who want overhead lighting but don’t have any, here’s a tutorial for you to easily add your own (without having to call a tradesperson out).

I hope this brightens you’re week….😉

Does your house smell? Are you worried you’re nose blind and can’t smell pesky odors, well I’ve got the solution for you, it’s called a catalytic burner and this one is by .
I can’t recommend this product enough, it’s truly a game changer if you want to make sure there’s no lingering smells, especially if you have pets or like strong foods.

Let me know if you’ve tried one of these and what you thought!

This is SUPER late but here it is anyway, decorate my tree with me!
This is the second time I’m doing this (and filming) because of the lights debacle, but we’re here, the tree looks good, and the lights look SOOO much better!

Do you have a menthol to decorating your tree?

I always start with a base layer of baubles so the tree looks balanced, I have 9 in red and 9 in green this year. Then I have 3 of every other bauble I place.

Visually people like things in threes as our brains are wired to like patterns and 3 is the lowest number of things you can have to create a pattern.

I also love to add whimsy to a Christmas tree, it’s meant to be a little fun and what’s more fun than dinosaurs, although I do have to be careful of these because they’re SOLID and would probably break something if they fall!

Let me know if your tree is up yet and what colours you’re decorating with, is it a Ralph Lauren Christmas for you this year, a 90’s Christmas, or something else?

I love everything Christmas so please let me know!

Do you want to learn how to make Bat Bows for Halloween? Well strap in, I’m about to show you how I did it!

You’ll need velvet ribbon, a hot glue gun and a pair of scissors for this craft.

I found a picture of these bows on Pinterest whilst looking for Halloween decorations and instead of following the instructions I just made my own steps, if you want to follow the original instructions then you’ll find them here:
https://pin.it/5TzxrCYiE

I for one am a big fan of these and will for sure be making more for next year, I can just imagine how cute they’ll be as a garland in my window or across my mantle!

I’ll make sure I type up the instructions in my own tutorial and I’ll share the link in the comments when I do.

Let me show you how easy it is to create a mood board with an app you probably already use, .
This feature is really user friendly, and FREE!
As a n interior designer I find creating a mood board an important step in the process of designing any space, not only does it give you clarity of what items you need, but it also helps you visualise the final space and alert you to any tweaks you may need to make before you finalise any design. But this isn't just a useful tool for interior designers, and I would encourage anyone who is looking to renovate, move or even redesign a space to put one together. You can even add items you already have a love to a mood board and then add items you're interested in purchasing around to make sure they go with your aesthetic.
Did you know this feature existed on Pinterest?
Now you do know about it, do you think you’ll use it?
I’m not sponsored, I just really have found this tool useful and figured it might be useful to others.

Did I ruin them? I know they’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but I am personally pretty happy with them but let me know!
