Vale Upholstery (formerly of Woodborough Road, Mapperley) has recently moved to a new unit in Lambley, Nottingham. Established in 1976, we are a third generation family business, specializing in all aspects of re-upholstery.

These look fantastic in the finished fabric ✨
A set of six dining chairs recently reupholstered in Cristina Marrone Giardino, a beautifully detailed floral design that really comes to life across the tall backs and generously sized seats. The soft blend of colours gives plenty of interest without being overpowering, making it a lovely choice for a dining room 🌸

It's easy to see why this fabric is proving so popular. Available in several beautiful shades and achieving an impressive 45,000 Martindale rub test, it offers both style and durability for everyday family life. We think these chairs have been completely transformed 😊🪡

Not every sofa that comes through the workshop follows straight lines and square corners ✨

This one has some lovely flowing curves, particularly around the arms, which always make for an interesting upholstery project. Getting the fabric to sit smoothly around these shapes, while keeping the piping crisp and consistent, is where experience really comes into its own 🪡
A smart, comfortable sofa finished in a beautiful blue fabric and ready to head back home. We think the customer has made an excellent choice 😊

A bespoke made storage footstool recently completed for one of our lovely customers ✨

Made to complement their newly reupholstered sofas, this piece was upholstered in Fryetts Hunter Green fabric and built with both style and practicality in mind. Details like the neat piping, contrasting lining, and high quality hinges all help give the footstool a beautifully finished feel 🪡

We always enjoy creating bespoke pieces like this — something made specifically for the customer and designed to fit perfectly within their home ♻️

Upholstered in beautiful Linwood Helter Skelter velvet in the Paprika colourway, this piece certainly makes a statement. Bold patterned fabrics like this always require careful placement and pattern matching to achieve a balanced finish, but the end result is always worth the extra attention 🪡

Here’s a rebuilt chaise recently completed in the workshop ✨ Carefully restored and upholstered from the frame upwards, with plenty of attention given to the flowing lines, piping, and overall finish. Fabrics with a repeating pattern like this always take a little extra care to ensure everything sits neatly and flows beautifully across the piece 🪡

This chaise is in the middle of a full rebuild, stripped right back and carefully brought up again by hand. Traditional buttoning like this takes time and precision, but it’s these details that give a piece its character and lasting comfort ✨
