British custom fish

Completed this carp with a stand I turned on my lathe out of one piece of tulip. I used black wood stain for the spool to make it stand out and some braided line for the realistic look. Over all it turned out really well.

Dm me if you’d like any of your catches replicating 👍.

I’ve had a couple of hours over the weekend carving in the finer details. Taking my time on this one to make sure it’s as realistic as possible.

By the end of this week :
• Finish carving
• Sanding / 500 grit
• Fins cut and fitted

A HUGE 60cm mirror carp that I’ve recently started carving with my new set of knives.
Crafted from a 200mm x 100mm solid section of tulip wood. Can’t wait to see how this one turns out.
