Snaps from an early summer install and some behind the scenes bits! Always an exciting part of the project when the fruits of your labour begin to come together in real life. We’ll be back this week to capture the finished project and look forward to sharing the results of this beautiful centuries old cottage in the very middle of nowhere 🍃

It’s all go the other side of this beautiful Deanscroft entrance Oakham School. Soon to be not only the Head’s house, but the welcoming heart of the school.

We’ve all been busy, with summer sunshine pouring through these wonderfully generous windows as the brilliant Estates team bring our interior designs to life, decorating the rooms with a fresh, classic feel.

Wooden floors have been uncovered and refinished, architectural details carefully restored, and we have made a smart new fender for the Drawing Room which is now ready for its upholstered seat.

Lots to do in the remaining weeks of the summer holidays, and we’re really excited to see it all come together — ready to welcome the school community through the doors of this historic building.

Watch this space and look out for the ES team, who appear to be inordinately excited by the addition of a lanyard ☺️

Welcome to Deanscroft Oakham School in Rutland where, alongside the estates team, we are excited to be part of an exciting transformation as this historic building becomes not only the heads house but the heart of the school.

Watch this space as we endeavour to complete the project by the start of the new term 😅

A sweeping staircase forms the centrepiece of the entrance hall in one of our recent projects. Designed by Elizabeth Stanhope and beautifully realised by Best Little Building Co, its final flourish is a bespoke jute runner that softens the architectural lines while lending warmth and texture.
Beneath the stairs sits a bespoke table of our own design, crafted locally in Rutland. The stone floor, supplied by Quorn Stone, provides a quiet foundation for the space, its natural character complementing the restrained material palette throughout.

We designed the wall panelling to extend seamlessly along the corridor beyond the hall, where it is gently articulated through the nuanced architectural colours of Paint & Paper Library, creating a sense of rhythm and continuity.

A crittal door to the kitchen with a slender steel frame allows the spaces to flow effortlessly together, drawing the eye beyond to the surrounding countryside and ensuring the landscape remains an integral part of the experience of the house.

Looking back on projects such as this, it serves as a reminder that enduring interiors are rarely the work of one hand alone. They are shaped by clear communication, thoughtful collaboration, uncompromising craftsmanship and, above all, clients willing to invest time and trust in the process. Those partnerships are what make a house feel both deeply considered and entirely effortless

A sitting room from a recent country house project.

Designed as a quiet retreat from the openness of everyday family life, this space is all about texture, comfort and calm. A room for reading, conversation and slowing down…deliberately without a television.

Sometimes the greatest luxury is a room with no agenda.

From creative concept to completion, this room was designed as a glorious surprise for guests and a joyful moment within this country house project. Raising the ceiling transformed the proportions, while pleated panels in Colours of Arley fabric and their striped wallpaper bring rhythm, warmth and most definitely a touch of theatre.
