Last Friday I joined over 100 artists at the National Trusts Killerton estate, for a day of Plein air painting.

The weather was perfect for the Devon skies and gorgeous gardens and landscape there.

If you haven’t visited yet, I’d highly recommend you do this summer. The perfect place to spend a day.

I simply love this time of year.

So quickly the garden changes from cold lifeless patch to a riot of colour.

Birds are cheeping, bees are buzzing, mice are squeaking! Life it seems is everywhere.

We’ll enjoy arty chats, create together, paint and sketch on the go, walk for miles, stop off for pub lunches and enjoy cream teas. Immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature and the fabulous Devon landscape over two glorious days. You’ll leave rested and enthused with a sketchbook of ideas.

Today I’m prepping for an up and coming workshop.

I’ve been making collage papers, hand painting some textiles and chopping up my own fabrics for the class.

But these redundant mono prints (made quite a while ago now), just keep finding their way out of the workshop pile, and onto my own desk😆.

Conclusion:- Its finally time to make something lovely with them.

Join me on Monday, 13th April for my monthly sketching session! 🥬

This FREE coffee and sketch meet-up in West Devon, is a wonderful way to connect with fellow creatives. I started it after relocating here.

We'll gather at my home, where I'll set up a still life with a 'Spring Greens!' theme. 🎨 Don't forget to pack your palette accordingly! 😉

I provide the coffee 😊 and we take turns in bringing the cakes. 🍰😋

Please bring your own materials, as this is an unfunded group. Parking can be tricky, so message me ahead for details. 😉

Fingers crossed the forecast improves, and we can head out to draw the landscape!🌦️ If not, we'll make the most of being indoors. 💚 it’s relaxed, friendly and informal, so do come along.

✍🏼So I turned to AI for some business advice recently, wondering is it time for a re-brand?

My home studio is in Devon now - A calmer, country haven - a good balance for my creative, busy mind.

My palettes are changing but my head is still a whirlwind of many varied creative ideas! Pattern, colour and texture still rule!

Workshops are my thing, I’m all about nurturing creativity, restorative spaces and positivity. Connecting with others is essential to me. AI was given the full brief!

So you could have knocked me over with a feather (no pun intended) when it suggested…..🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁

😳I kid you not - I mean, catch up AI - I thought of that 16 years ago! 😂

🤔But seriously, it just shows you - not much has changed, location only, so should I revive the name? Let me know your thoughts!
