We sell suites, beds, table and chairs, carpets, vinyls, safety flooring, karndean, laminate flooring, electrical goods, rugs, giftware and a cookshop. The newest department functioning successfully from 2009 is the Interior design department. The department hosts many Interior aspects including upholstery, upcycling old or dated furniture and of course soft furnishings. Take a look inside the shop here:

A little trip down memory lane.

From the original black and white photo of our building in 1941, (which we restored to a coloured copy) to Hood and Co as it stands today. These walls are full of history right here in the heart of Newtownstewart.

We believe Hood and Co was established in 1848, with evidence showing the building’s history goes back alot further. Lead discovered in a chimney was dated to 1769, while other records suggest parts of the building may date as far back as the 1820s.

We’d love to uncover even more about the history of the building, the town, and the people connected to it.
