A bit of a full-circle moment.
I designed this house early in my career and overseen construction - it has now come up for sale on Ballyhanwood Road in East Belfast.
It is always interesting seeing a project years later, especially one where the main design moves have stood the test of time: generous natural light, strong views, vaulted living spaces, a private setting and practical family accommodation.
The house sits in an elevated position with views towards Stormont and the surrounding countryside, while still being close to Belfast. It also included features that were fairly forward-thinking at the time, including triple-glazed alu-clad windows, underfloor heating, MVHR, solar hot water and PV panels.
A good reminder that well-considered design should still feel relevant many years after completion.
