Original artwork is often the starting point to a scheme. It can set the tone and mood of a space and be the anchor that everything leads back to. I love sourcing original pieces for a client, but it can often be the most challenging part of a scheme, proportion is everything in design, and the combination of finding an amazing piece in a large format can be a labour of love!

It is the season for curtain and sofa buying! My recent 2-Hour Consultations have been almost entirely on these topics. In particular discussions about the correct proportions, fabrics, pattern and the best places to buy. These are typically items we invest in every 10 years, so they are decisions worth getting right. I live by the principles of ‘buy well, but once’ and I support you in making all the right decisions about your investment.

Back to work. It’s not all plumping cushions, mostly it is specifying floors, windows, doors, kitchens, curtains, sockets and switches, as well as designing beautiful rooms, and I LOVE every single part of it. September is my favourite time of year. I have some amazing projects in the pipeline, which I am very excited about, plus 2 beautiful finished homes to photograph. I am currently taking new work from spring 2027 but there is availability for 2-Hour Consultations if you would like a little help with the finishing touches or renovation planning.

It’s all the little details that make a room feel like home. I love the tiny stripe on the sofa, the different pattern in all the cushions, curtains, rug and lamp shades. I love the scallop of the pendant light, the curve of the coffee table and the mixed woods and marble and metals. Not one of these decisions happened by accident. And not once did the client have to give a thought to the mechanics of how all these magical elements come together. That is the beauty of such a bespoke service, all you need to do is enjoying living in this beautiful space.

Just a girl, sitting in a whimsical garden room she designed, feeling pretty happy. This room is a playroom, family tv space and double aspect garden room looking out to rolling countryside. It was such a pleasure to give it this fresh, lively, welcoming feel.
