Nothing complicated to say about this one — I just think it looks really pretty 🤍

A simple made-to-measure Roman blind in the loveliest fern print from , fitted by into an already beautiful kitchen. I love how the soft greens sit with the tiles, natural wood and aged brass.

Sometimes the finishing touches are the best part.

These blinds are 10 years old… and they’re still looking beautiful.

Today I returned to a client’s home to measure another room, and seeing these again reminded me why I love what I do.

Bespoke window treatments are often seen as an expensive purchase, but I think they’re better compared to a quality sofa or a piece of well-made furniture than to a ready-made blind.

Every blind is made specifically for your windows, using quality fabrics and components, then professionally installed to ensure it performs beautifully for years to come.

When you invest in something that’s designed to last, the value isn’t just in how it looks on day one—it’s in how it looks a decade later.

Quality isn’t always the cheapest option upfront, but it can be the most economical choice over time.

Have you ever had curtains or blinds that have lasted for years? I’d love to hear how old they are in the comments. 🤍

Not every window needs the same treatment.

The best interiors are designed around how a room is actually used, not by following rigid rules.

Different windows often have different challenges—furniture, door openings, radiators or limited wall space can all influence the best solution.

The goal isn’t symmetry at all costs; it’s creating a space that looks beautiful and functions beautifully too.

Would you have guessed these two window treatments were designed to work together?

Sometimes the best design is the part you hardly notice…

Our customer wanted one curtain that could completely disappear in summer, but still close across the whole window in winter.

The challenge? There was almost nowhere for it to stack. A radiator and the kitchen units left us with a very tight space to work with.

The solution was a custom curved track that allows the curtain to glide neatly behind the kitchen units when it’s open, then effortlessly across the window when it’s needed.

It’s one of those details that looks simple—but takes a lot of planning to get right.

Not all curtain poles are created equal…

A tracked pole is one of my favourite options because it gives you the best of both worlds.

✨ The timeless look of a traditional wooden pole.
✨ The smooth, effortless glide of a curtain track.

The track is cleverly hidden inside the pole, so you don’t have to choose between style and practicality.

It’s often one of those little details that clients didn’t know existed, but once they see it, they absolutely love it.

Beautifully made. Expertly fitted. Designed to be enjoyed every single day.

These photos landed in my inbox and I absolutely love how this room has turned out.

What many people don’t realise is that my role often extends beyond supplying the window treatments. With this project, we discussed everything from paint colours and panelling to artwork and styling, helping to create a scheme that felt cohesive and calm.

The starting point for the design was this beautiful inherited bed, complete with its stunning fabric headboard. It was such a special piece that we wanted it to remain the star of the room, so every decision that followed was made with that in mind.

When selecting fabrics for the Roman blind, we deliberately chose something understated that would complement the bed rather than compete with it. Her husband then created the beautiful panelling, she chose the same paint colour that I have in my own home, and together we selected artwork that completed the scheme.

The Roman blind is obviously a key feature, but it’s the combination of all the elements working together that makes the room feel so successful.

I always say that a beautiful room is rarely about one thing. It’s about making lots of thoughtful decisions that all support each other.

It’s been such a pleasure watching this room come to life, and I’m incredibly grateful that my client trusted me to help shape the vision.

After sharing my Roman blinds mishap the other day, I thought I’d show you the other side of the story.

With these blinds, I knew the fabric wasn’t wide enough so I designed the border in from the outset.

A lot of what I do happens long before any sewing takes place. I’m constantly checking fabric widths and working out how everything is going to fit together.

Not quite as entertaining as making a mistake and having to plan around it 🤣 but it’s a good example of how a little planning can save a lot of headaches later on.

A little design confession…

When I originally specified the fabric for this Roman blind, I completely overlooked one important detail – the fabric wasn’t quite wide enough.

Rather than introducing a join, we decided to add a contrast border, and honestly, we think it transformed the design.

What started as a challenge became one of our favourite features of the finished blind.

It’s a lovely reminder that bespoke interiors aren’t always about sticking rigidly to the original plan. Sometimes the unexpected solution creates something even better.

What do you think – happy accident or design upgrade?
