To all my wonderful bakery customers,
I wanted to share a little update with you all.
Over the past few years, so many of you have supported me by buying my bread, cakes and bakes, visiting me at markets, attending workshops and simply cheering me on. I can't thank you enough for your loyalty, encouragement and friendship.
Many of you know that life has changed quite a bit over the last year. One of the biggest considerations has been wanting to be available for my elderly father, who lives in Malvern. I've realised I need the flexibility to travel at short notice when needed.
Running a bakery, especially supplying markets, means working to a very rigid timetable. Bread can't be delayed, markets can't be postponed, and the preparation begins several days before each event. Unfortunately, that commitment doesn't fit well with the unpredictability of family responsibilities.
After a great deal of thought, I've decided to focus my energy on another skill I've loved for many years—soft furnishings.
Some of you may not know that before my baking business I worked in soft furnishings, making bespoke curtains, Roman blinds, cushions and other home furnishings. It's a craft I've always enjoyed, and I'm excited to be returning to it through my new business, Teifi Soft Furnishings Studio.
This change will allow me to continue running my own business while giving me the flexibility I need.
I had originally planned for Saturday 8th August to be my final baking day at the Marchnad Llambed - Lampeter Market , so I could say a proper goodbye and thank you in person. However, plans have changed unexpectedly. As many of you know, I do voluntary work during the summer , supporting charities at festivals, and I've been asked to cover some early shifts at an upcoming festival. Sadly, this means I won't be able to attend the market after all.
Although I'm disappointed not to have the chance to say goodbye to everyone in person, I'm incredibly grateful for all your support. Your encouragement has meant so much and has helped make Ali's Kitchen & Bakehouse a very special part of my life.
I will still be attending the market in the future, but instead of selling baked goods my stall will become a 'shop window' for my new business. I hope you'll stop by for a chat and see what I've been creating for Teifi Soft Furnishings Studio.
Thank you for being part of my journey. I hope you'll enjoy following this new chapter as much as you've supported the last one.
With heartfelt thanks,
Ali Pearson
