A new painting finished and ready to share… 💙🩷
I've been working recently on repurposed surfaces.

This canvas once held a completely different story. Worn out, a bit scuffed, left behind… rescued from the skip! 🤪

Rather than covering its past completely, I’ve painted through it, letting some of the textures, marks and faint lines of what came before remain.

I’ve become really interested in what lies beneath — the things we leave behind, but also the bits we carry with us.

The idea is inspired by kintsugi — the Japanese art of repairing broken things and making the damage part of their beauty.

What was discarded can have another life.
What remains can become something beautiful!

Quick wee one after tea. Acylic ink base and pastel layers. I think it's called...Run for it! Either avoid the rain or the incoming tide 😂🌊☁️ but be quick! 😂

Lots of fun with this one over the weekend. Working hard to be loose with the acylic and a bit more abstract and dreamy. I'll call her 'Marianne' as I can't stop listening to the new Fontaines D.C song! 😂🤦‍♀️ And it suits her.🌊❤️

Doing a bit of wave watching on holiday. A bit sunnier in my head but that's the joy! 😂🌊

Working with pastels and isopropyl alcohol to underpaint. Was fun!
