Silly me! An forgotten WIP came on our break.

First I cursed bringing the needles I did. KnitPro Zing with mohair, nope! That’s not the best combination but it’s that or put the project back in the bag & twiddle my thumbs

So I persevered. Never, never , never again
One Icord neck band finished but I’m slightly suspicious that it is too tight. Trying it on later.

If it is do I pull it out with mohair . Somehow I suspect not

BUT someone please tell me why I decided to stripe the project when the original was solid….:

Sleeves ….. what colour should I start with

A short getaway

After Mike’s hospital stay I wasn’t sure we would get away but we did

He’s still weak but improving . Thought I’d use some time to catch up on a WIP but so far today I’ve not done much other than sleep 😴

I was doing a little stocktake earlier of some yarns when I realised there were some lonely yarns.

This has to change they need new homes and to be seen.

Lonely because there was only 1 of each hanging on the racks . The exception was Hedgehog Fibres but those two have no other friends to keep them company

Don’t leave their little faces looking sad and give them a new forever home

Having spent the last couple of weeks visiting Mike in hospital I did manage to get two projects further down their line

I was being fairly monogamous on my Mohair Mobile shawl by but for some reason I can’t find my clue 3

Checking out my project bags I found one I had forgotten about
No idea why I had stopped as it is an easy knit for being in a public space . This one is by Mamie & Florrie using their boucle yarn & mohair

1 & 2nd October

All hospitals I’m afraid
Thursday saw me very early , for me these days, down at the fracture clinic at QA Portsmouth
I seem to know that clinic quite well now as I’m on my 6th broken bone over my life.
This time it was a return for the elbow I broke almost 2 yrs ago. The wires they used are sticking into my skin so the plan is to take them out
As I had to wait 50 mins to be seen on the way out I thought I’d treat myself . It was all going well until some random guy sat opposite me. You’ve guessed it I got to know his life story and his political views . He certainly didn’t know his exit line !

Yesterday was a sudden decision to allow Mike home after 2 weeks in hospital so my last daily commute there.

I’m now head cook bottle washer & rehab nurse with extra pill duties . Hoping for slow & steady improvement for him

food , hospital knitting ( I was visiting )
water pouring down the wall in new kitchen last night ( no I don’t make my dog sit on wet towels 😂)
drying out my pink fabric drawers ,
Nell wanting a biscuit while I was mopping the flood

1 guess as to where I’ve been this morning
Rewarded myself with a chocolate twist as the verdict was another op

Must have pressed some button as now my car sends me messages !

I do have another event, our Knit&Natter in a pub where else 😂

Anyone local may recognise this

It’s Petersfield community hospital which has become a regular visiting stop over the last few years

This time not for me but for Mike who was unexpectedly taken into hospital last Friday.

He’s still there & I’m doing a daily commute to visit and to bring home his washing which is left for me daily !

Yes I do take my knitting but feel slightly mean if I concentrate on that & not him 😂
A Stephen West shawl does take a little concentration at times!

However they get all the patients to get in bed at 6pm & there’s no TV on the ward 😱

So life is a little disrupted at the moment
