Sourced earlier in the year by our Directors on a trip to Nepal; we’re delighted by the quality and the notes. These Singing Bowls were traditionally used in Tibetan monasteries to signal the start and end of meditation and also during chanting prayers.

💀 ❤️‍🔥 19th Century Tibetan Torgam Cabinet ❤️‍🔥 💀

This original polychrome Tibetan Torgam Cabinet is an extremely 🌟 RARE FIND 🌟 These were found in the homes of wealthy Tibetan families and monasteries.

The cabinet features two skulls, disembodied with the eyes, tongues and heart falling from them. The jewels beneath the skulls are “The Seven Jewel Insignia Of The Chakravartin” (universal monarch).

In Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism, skull imagery serves as a reminder of impermanence and the transcendence of the ego rather than mortality alone.

💙🤍 New Porcelain ⚡️ Just Arrived 🤍💙

On Friday we spent the day offloading hundreds of new pieces of porcelain from Jingdezhen, China.
This is where we source all of our new items such as the Moon Vases, Temple Jars, Barrel Stools, Dragon Tianqiuping Vases and more.

Our Directors visited China in March this year and handpicked everything that you see here. Our team will be unpacking, photographing and uploading all items to our website over the next few weeks.

If you are on our mailing list, you will have received an email today of our new ✨ educational series ✨ This edition focussing on 🎨 The Beauty of Hand Painting 🎨

These Qajar Style Polychrome Bikaner Doors (£3,950) show off the deep reds and yellows that come from ground natural minerals and earth pigments. Nothing ever synthetic.

Beth, our fine artist, has already retouched some of the details and now you can watch as she uses coloured lacquer to build layers to create the same pigments. Listen as Richard, our Head of Restoration, explains the process we use.

The artwork is now restored to its former glory and many pieces like this are available on our website now.
