This weekend with author 📖 Torie True 📖 ✍️ is a testament to how Indigo is not merely a shop but a ✨ destination ✨ to visit, spend time and learn.

Our Seven Kitchens cooking demo was unlike any other; crammed full of historical facts that set the scene for all of the recipes in the book, including how the “Seven Kitchens” came to be the title. Drawing inspiration from seven Indian communities.

Thank you Torie, for making these demos such an immersive experience for all of the senses, from the aromas of exotic spices, to the sizzle of paneer in the pan and finally the beautiful taste of the finished meal as the grand finale!

Our container from China is on the water; due to arrive with us in early July. This is the truck full of stock which our supplier sent to us before it left the depot 😍

It is packed full of porcelain, furniture and art from our Director’s recent trip to Jingdezhen 🇨🇳

☝This is a "stop-scrolling" kind of piece! ✨Blue and white painted Indian doors from Gujarat 🇮🇳

These doors are antiques, from the 19th Century, and the painting is newer. You'll see that the painting is inspired by blue and white Chinese porcelain (swipe across), decorated with elephants, horses and floral designs.

The story continues in the carvings, deep floral and peacocks flanked by the corbels.

If you'd like to bring some classic blue & white into your home, but maybe don't have space for new doors 🙃 then we have plenty of small pieces.... perfect for you first purchase with Indigo.

Following on from the success of her first cook book "Chilli & Mint", Torie brings you exciting new recipes and stories from her travels with "Seven Kitchens"

Join us at Indigo for what is set to be a fun and delicious event! We're offering 4 time slots over 2 days; giving you plenty of opportunities to enjoy an intimate & interactive cooking demo for a few recipes from the book and sample food and drink made by Torie on the day.

💫Time to focus on some of our staple antique pieces 💫 These are items that will always be firm favourites and staple features in our barns and showroom from the three main countries that we source from .... 🇯🇵 Japan 🇨🇳 China 🇮🇳 India ✨

Photo 1 - Traditional Japanese Kasane Isho Dansu chest from between 1603 - 1868. A practical and beautiful antique piece paired with the Super Moon Jute Runner from and above it a framed Japanese woodblock print from the Meiji period between 1868 - 1912.

Photo 2 - Indian brass bound teak military chest, 18th century from North India. The deep colours of the rosewood and brass allow the colours of the 100% wool Azilal Farah rug from Tate & Darby to POP. Our new painted Barmer table lamp is throwing beautiful shadows on the wall and the chromolithograph to it's left.

Photo 3 - Our last remaining D**gbei Sideboard from China Ca 1920. D**g meaning "north" and Bei meaning "east" which is the area in China these beautifully crafted and painted sideboards originate from. A true statement antique atop the 100% wool Moroccan Azilal Klein from Tate & Darby. Above it a watercolour Ancestor painting on silk.
