My latest monotype print with ink drawing.

The monotype print is made by putting thin layers of oil based printing ink onto a sheet of acetate. I lay a piece of beautiful Japanese paper over the inked acetate, then pull it through my printing press.

Once the ink is dry, I use a fine ink pen to draw the trees.

These trees are taken from a photograph I took at Burrator on Dartmoor. The colours of the background are imagined, creating a blend of myth and realism and a focus towards the value of woodland.
