This crochet technique makes complex looking colour patterns using just one colour in a row. The fabric created is quite firm lending itself to geometric designs, ideal for homewares as well as garments

It may feel a bit early for Christmas but the Ricorumi Christmas Crochet Along starts on 16 October
There are eight cute Christmas Ricorumis to crochet, all different animals each in with a wreath which can be used as Christmas decorations or gifts
Beginning on October 16, 2026, there will be a brand new design available for free on the Rico website every Friday for eight weeks
It's a limited Edition with all instructions are only available for download on Rico's website until 31 January 2027
The Xmas Crochet Along 2026 is available as a boxed set with all the Ricorumi balls needed to crochet the figures. Order from our online store or drop into the shop to pick one up.

We've had some lovely new sock weight yarns in this week from our supplier ArtYarn. The first is Super Soxx Scottish Isle Socks which are in lovely deep heathered tones. I was really pleased to find out too that the yarn is fully traceable by going to the Lang Yarns website -- just find the product and use the 'trace your yarn' button.
Also in from ArtYarn is Crazy Zauberball sock and Perlen Minis. Both have fantastic colourways (and names) and the Perlen minis have been packaged in fives to produce amazing gradients and colour effects.
Take a look by going on to our website and don't forget that if you come in this week during Yarnstravaganza you will receive a discount off your purchase.

Yarnstravaganza started on Saturday 26th September so here's a reminder of what going on in the shop:

Running all week is our Yarn Amnesty. Donate any unused, clean yarn you have lurking in your stash and we'll pass it on to charity crafters. In return you'll receive a discount voucher to be used on your next yarn purchase in-store

We'll be offering a daily discount - the amount to be decided by the throw of a dice
Saturday was 1%, today was 5%, who knows what the rest of the week will be!

Surprise bags are on offer in the shop containing yarn and pattern to make a project. Available for knitting and and crochet from £5.00 to £20.00

Last year, for Yarnstravaganza we introduced Surprise Bags. They were so popular, we decided to repeat the treat for customers who come into the shop

No peeking allowed but Surprise Bags will contain yarn and pattern with a significant saving on full price and will labelled as knitting or crochet with some specifically for babies

Unusually, our next learn to crochet course has a couple of spaces left.

If you've been wanting to take up crochet, the course runs on Saturdays from 1.30 till 3.30pm on 03, 10, 17 and 31 October.

The course costs £90 including materials and can be booked with a deposit through our online shop or in person
