We had a lovely visit today from one of our favourite artists, Morag Mellor or Mogs, as she calls herself.. Got some great oil paintings in both her local land/seascapes and her fish & sea-life paintings, that have always been so popular, sprats, shrimps and langoustine... New land/seascapes are Appin Lighthouse & Shuna Island, Highland Cottages and Blustery Sails. Come and see them in our gallery (well, wee shop) or if you are further away, contact us for more info. We have now a very colourful "COTTAGE" corner as our friend and local artist Graeme MacCorquodale has brought in 4 small paintings in his very popular Hebridean Cottage series. It is always great to see our crafters expand their range successfully and Aileen Clark, who we have been working with for years with her Felt-Art based cards and bookmarks, is now making these beautiful pieces of jewellery. Using iridescent fabrics and materials, layered and stitched and set behind glass. The inspiration comes from the sea and the effects of light on water. We just got these in today and only a few... Wendy Barr is a highly talented woodworker and the way she integrates resin into her wood sculptures is quite unique.
