We re-seat chairs using cane, rush, Danish cord, willow and other fibres and repair frames where necessary. The Chair Repair Shop Traditional Chair Caning is located in the same workshop.

I restored the seat of the 4th chair last year. The customers came back for the full set of these lovely retro chairs (which are dear to them as passed to them from family) to be rejuvenated. This makes it all the more worthwhile 💚

The summer holiday has been spent working on this lovely set of antique (circa approx 1880's) oak chairs. Main photo shoewng the various stages of restoration. 3 seats have been re-rushed the carver chair is complete and has just had a nice coat of oil to nourish the wood.
One chair left to take care of, then back to their beautiful home in west cornwall.

The colours of the fresh twisted rush in nature's golds, browns and greens will slowly turn brown and this chair should be good for a good few years to come!
