Sorry we’ve been a little quiet on here recently… poppies have rather taken over our world! ❤️

There are poppies in bags, poppies on tables, poppies in our dreams… and somewhere underneath them all, there’s us! 😂🪡

We’re still here, with all the usual woolly loveliness, fabric treasures and creative goings-on… just with a LOT of red stitching squeezed in between.

Thank you for bearing with us, popping in and keeping us going. We can’t wait to see everyone’s hard work come together. ❤️

Yes I know its cursed talking about Chr*stmas in October 😉
But my last workshop of the year will get us into the festive spirit to make a felted Christmas decoration! Suitable for all levels, you can choose your chosen shape and embellish with beads to add a festive flair 🌟

What a wonderful workshop we had on Tuesday 😍 Mixed media is definitely up there as a firm favourite, playing with textures, layering techniques and materials to create something unique!

🌺🌺🌺 WE HAVE A POPPY TOTAL… WELL, ALMOST! 🌺🌺🌺

We genuinely cannot quite believe we are writing this.

When we launched our Sea of Poppies project, we set ourselves what felt like a pretty ambitious target…

❤️ 13,000 handmade poppies.

On Friday, after counting… and counting… and counting some more, Alexsis reached a total of…

🥁 24,443 POPPIES!!! 🥁

TWENTY-FOUR THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED AND FORTY-THREE! 🌺🤯❤️

That's nearly DOUBLE our original target.

But wait…

SHE HASN'T FINISHED COUNTING YET! 😂

There are STILL more poppies waiting to be counted, so that incredible total is going to rise even further!

Honestly, what have you lot done?! ❤️

Thousands upon thousands of little red poppies have arrived at Seeded, handmade by people from our wonderful community and beyond. Seeing them all together is quite overwhelming.

🧵 NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP SEWING!

At this stage, we have more than enough poppies for the main Sea of Poppies display — what we really need now are helping hands to sew all those finished poppies together ready for Southsea Castle.

You don't need to be an expert sewer. If you can wield a needle and thread and are happy to sit and stitch poppies together, WE NEED YOU! ❤️

🌺 BUT PLEASE DON'T STOP SENDING YOUR POPPIES!

Any additional poppies can be made into poppy brooches to be sold in aid of the Royal British Legion, both through the RBL and here at Seeded, and we'll also be sharing surplus poppies with other projects around the city that have been asking for them.

So please keep bringing or sending them in — we'll make sure they find a very special home. 🌺

We’re starting to bring together all those wonderful handmade poppies ready for our Sea of Poppies display at Southsea Castle — and there’s still plenty to do!

🧶 THE SEEDED DE-STASH IS HEADING TO EMSWORTH! 🧵

We’re taking the Seeded De-Stash on tour, and our next stop is Emsworth! 🙌

Join us on Saturday 3rd October, 10am–12pm at Emsworth Community Centre, where we’ll have 16 tables packed with pre-loved crafty treasures looking for new homes.

Expect wool, fabric, haberdashery, buttons, paper crafting supplies and, of course, plenty of unexpected crafty finds! ✂️🧶🧵

We LOVE a De-Stash – not only is it a brilliant opportunity to grab a bargain, it’s also about giving perfectly good craft supplies another chance to be made into something wonderful. ♻️💛

So bring a bag, bring your crafty friends and come prepared for a good rummage!
