🧙♀️✨ And here it is… Ellie’s second witch’s hat for our Challenge! ✨🧙♀️
If you saw Ellie’s first gorgeous autumnal hat, you’ll know that these were most definitely not what she originally had planned when she chose her fat quarters – but we are VERY glad that inspiration took her in this direction!
For hat number two, Ellie has gone brighter with a fabulous combination of pinks, oranges and golden yellows, piecing all four fat quarters together to create the wonderfully patchwork cone and brim. And just look underneath that brim too! 😍
Once again, Ellie has used the remaining fabric to make those brilliant little embellishments – a mixture of Suffolk puff/yo-yo and Kanzashi-style flowers, finished off with some rather lovely buttons and a bit of sparkle. 🌸✨
This is exactly what we hoped the Summer Fat Quarter Challenge would encourage: choosing four fabrics and then seeing where your imagination takes you. Sometimes the best projects are the ones you never intended to make in the first place!
And we have to say, Ellie may have wondered whether she would have chosen different colours had she known she was making witch’s hats… but we wouldn’t change these at all. 💗🧡💛 They’re wonderfully quirky, cheerful and just a little bit magical.
Thank you so much, Ellie, for not one but TWO fabulous final entries – and for throwing yourself into the challenge and trying something completely new.
We think whoever eventually gets to wear this is going to be the best-dressed little witch around! 🧙♀️✨
