Here at the Village Bakery, we receive lots of messages asking for help, but this one really touched our hearts. ❤️

Imagine being just 35 years old and already having battled stage 4 bowel cancer, sepsis and undergone TWO hip replacements. 💔

That’s exactly what this incredibly brave young man has been through.

And now, this October, he’s taking on an incredible challenge alongside his niece — walking over 60 MILES to raise money for bowel cancer. ❤️

When we received the message asking if we could share their story, how could we possibly say no?

We have thousands of amazing people following our little independent bakery, and if we can use that following to help someone who’s been through so much, then that’s what it’s all about. ❤️

Another little extract from the Educational day for Wessex & Jersey Teachers NAFAS

My main aim for the day was to encourage conversation and engagement with learners. To be learner led but tutor encouraged !

Each learner takes a new skill home and the tutor should also take a few too !

This year we will be donating 10% from our Festive wreath making workshops to the TOMMY'S charity.

Last year we met a lady that contacted us after a workshop explaining how the workshops had given her a little lift after a devastating christmas the year before.

To allow these charities to keep doing all the amazing work they do, supporting families that are facing incredibly difficult times, it is an honour to be able to contribute to them.

We are hosting workshops in various venues thought the ones here will be at THE FORT

(Last year our main venue was THE SQUARE TOWER which we will be forever grateful for)
