✨I’m Taking a Week Off✨

I’m officially on holiday mode as we’re off to Turkey tomorrow and I cannot wait for some much needed time off!

My out of office is officially switched on and I won’t be posting, checking emails or online very much over the next week.

For any email’s or messages received during this time - I’ll get back to you on Wednesday the 12th August 🩷.

New project starting when I get back too and I’ll share more on that soon!

✨I’ve been keeping a little secret✨

Hamza’s surprise kitchen mural, filled with all of his favourite foods, bakes and treats is finally finished 🩷

Seeing his reaction yesterday meant everything too.

This is one of the reasons I love creating bespoke murals so much. Every design is completely unique to the people and the space, and bringing those ideas to life before seeing a client’s reaction is always my favourite part of the whole process.

Nadia Thesensorysnug is creating something incredibly special for our local community, and I’d really encourage you to follow along with their journey.

I’ll be honest, I left after painting yesterday feeling a little emotional.

Knowing how much this business means to Nadia and her family, and how passionate they are about creating a safe, fun and inclusive space for children, adults and families with SEND, neurodiversity and dementia, has made this project feel like such a privilege to be part of.

Thank you so much for trusting me with something so personal and special. I genuinely can’t wait to see this incredible business open its doors. 🩷

I can’t actually believe I’m writing this…

But I’m fully booked until October. 🩷

And I just wanted to say a huge thank you.

To every interior design client, mural client, workshop attendee, market visitor, and every single person who’s followed along with this journey over the last almost 2 years… thank you so, so much for trusting me with your homes, businesses and creative projects.

Every booking, recommendation, message and word of encouragement has helped this little business grow, and I honestly don’t take any of it for granted.

August and September will be spent working on my biggest mural project to date. I’m excited, terrified and incredibly grateful all at once.

Now for the practical bit…
I haven’t had chance to release my October consultation dates yet, but they’ll be going live on my website very soon.

Bedroom spam incoming! Sorry not sorry…

If you saw my recent stories, you’ll know that my bedroom scheme has finally started to come together and I’m so excited!

It’s taken me much longer than I expected… mainly because I decided to leave my job and start a new business whilst also renovating our home. 🫣🤣

That said, I’ve had a clear vision for this room before any of the work began, and having that vision has made every decision along the way so much easier.

We wanted this room to feel calm, functional and cosy. My husband had one rule…no pink on the walls (so I found other ways to sneak it in that he approved of 😂).

✨ I spent time getting the layout right so we could move around the space with ease.

✨ I designed our dream fitted wardrobes alongside the joiner. Storage is so important in a bedroom because when everything has a home, the space naturally feels calmer and less cluttered.

✨ I created a lighting plan to completely transform how the room feels. My favourite feature is lying in bed and controlling all of the lighting from the bedside. It’s honestly the best!

✨ Every colour, texture and finish has been carefully considered to create a space that feels cohesive, calming and somewhere we genuinely enjoy winding down at the end of the day.

It’s a good reminder that interior design isn’t just about creating a beautiful room. It’s about creating a home that supports how you want to live and feel every day. I also want to say these things take time and it’s okay if it takes longer than you expected too.

We’ve still got a few finishing touches to complete the scheme, but I’ll keep sharing the progress and I promise a full room reveal is coming soon! 🩷

A builder told me this was “more hassle than it’s worth”.

I heard him out. But as a designer, I disagreed because I knew this room could look, function and feel so much better than it did.

Builders are knowledgeable and great at what they do. But on this occasion, they didn’t understand my problem. They couldn’t see the end vision and had no idea how it made us feel living with a bedroom that didn’t feel great to be in.

We spent years living with a huge stairs bulkhead (see final image) which took up so much space.

Not only that, but it became a dumping ground for clothes and things would get piled up on here. We hated it.

Yes it was messy and took time to plan and save to have the work done.

But I’m so glad we didn’t listen because I’m so pleased with how it’s turned out 🩷.
