When it comes to lighting, it's all about creating the wow factor - and we're the experts. As a leading lighting design consultancy, we create unique and innovative lighting schemes for a range of commercial and residential projects throughout the UK and in Europe. From luxury hotel lighting schemes, striking office and retail designs to stunning bespoke lighting for traditional and contemporary homes, our quality lighting schemes are designed to inspire and amaze. We source our lights from all over the world and use the very latest technology to give your project edge. We are totally independent and so you can rest assured we will recommend the right light for the job. Far from being the finishing touch, we believe lighting should be central to the overall design of your project from day one. Working as part of the project team, alongside architects, interior designers, developers or private clients, is where we're most comfortable. Accredited by the Carbon Trust, we also specialise in energy efficient lighting schemes and work at the very edge of what is possible to achieve maximum benefits. Our lighting schemes are carefully tailored to individual needs, but we pride ourselves on pushing clients beyond conventional expectations.

Care environments need exterior lighting that feels safe and reassuring.

At a residential care centre in St Helens, bat activity meant the exterior lighting design had to be carefully controlled to protect wildlife while still supporting residents, staff and visitors.

This is where thoughtful lighting design makes a real difference.

One of the best parts of working at Lumenata is visiting some truly beautiful places around the UK.

We're currently working on a lovely project in the countryside on the Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire borders, where we've been asked to design the lighting for a traditional stone-built farmhouse.

Our aim is to combine modern lighting techniques with the property's original character, creating a home that feels warm, welcoming and beautifully lit without losing its charm.

We can't wait to share more as the project develops.

Large developments need joined-up lighting design.

We recently completed an exterior lighting strategy for a 250-pitch caravan site in Devon, including lighting for the pitches, entertainment centre and outdoor swimming pool area.

A single coordinated strategy helps ensure the lighting is safe, consistent and responsible across the whole site.

Did you know that many planning applications now require a detailed assessment of existing night-time lighting before any new lighting can be designed?

This week, the Lumenata team carried out a Baseline Night-Time Lighting Assessment at a holiday park in Norfolk. These surveys help us understand the existing lighting conditions so we can design new schemes that minimise light pollution, protect wildlife and meet planning requirements.

Whether you're planning a housing development, holiday park, commercial premises or leisure facility, our team can provide the surveys and technical reports needed to support your planning application.

If you'd like to know more about how a Lighting Impact Assessment could help your project, get in touch.

We love seeing a finished project looking this good.

These pictures are from the Next125 Studio in Kirkby Lonsdale, where Lumenata designed the lighting for this high-end kitchen showroom.

The brief was to create lighting that wouldn't simply showcase the kitchens as retail displays, but would reflect the type of lighting customers might actually want to use within their own homes.

The result is a warmer, more residential approach that helps bring the furniture and kitchens to life.

We also incorporated the Genius fitting from Buzzi & Buzzi – the ultimate in minimalist architectural lighting and a great choice when you want people to notice the effect of the light rather than the fitting itself.

Even better, we’ve since discovered that the showroom is in the final three for the UK National Kitchen Showroom Awards.

We’re not saying that’s all down to our lighting...

But we’re sure it must have helped!

Congratulations to the team and good luck for the final.

Not every lighting project starts with a blank sheet of paper.

A customer recently contacted us for help with an existing chandelier that hadn't been supplied or installed by Lumenata.

Unfortunately, the chandelier had been dressed incorrectly when it was originally installed, so our customer asked us if we could help put things right.

The chandelier was carefully taken down, redressed correctly and put back in place – giving the customer the finished result they should have had in the first place.

Sometimes you don't need new lighting. You just need someone with the right experience to identify the problem and find a solution.

If you have a lighting problem that needs addressing, talk to Lumenata. We’re here to help.

Sometimes standard street lighting simply isn’t appropriate.

On a residential development in Wales, bat activity meant alternative lighting solutions were required. The resulting strategy provided safe access while protecting local wildlife and meeting planning requirements.

Urban residential developments often require lighting to be carefully controlled.

For a recent flat development in Manchester, avoiding light spill onto neighbouring properties was a critical part of the lighting design. By managing light levels and direction, the scheme balanced resident safety with respect for surrounding buildings.

Good lighting design makes a real difference in dense urban environments.

Lighting has a significant impact on how leisure spaces feel.

At a holiday lodge park entertainment centre in Derbyshire, the lighting design was developed to support different uses while creating the right atmosphere for guests.

Good lighting helps leisure spaces work better for everyone.

Almost there at Blackburn North United Reformed Church.

Work is nearing completion on our latest church lighting project, and we wanted to share a photo before we reveal the finished result.

Churches can be particularly challenging buildings to light successfully. The lighting needs to work for regular services, special occasions and other activities, whilst respecting the character and architecture of the building.

There are also practical considerations such as existing wiring, difficult mounting positions, energy efficiency, maintenance and the need for simple, flexible lighting controls.

Lumenata has extensive experience in church lighting and understands these challenges.

Rather than simply replacing existing lights, we consider how the church uses its space and design a solution around those requirements – combining practical illumination with atmosphere, flexibility and sympathetic lighting of the building itself.

If your church is considering upgrading its lighting, speak to a lighting designer who understands church buildings.

Talk to Lumenata.
