Posting on behalf of Ramsgate Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club - any of my Friends and Armed Forces Connections could share this in the Thanet area it would be greatly appreciated.
There are over 4000 Armed Forces Veterans in Thanet according to recent census data, yet all our Local Organisations trying to reach out to them are only getting a few hundred between us.
So, giving this a push ...
We are coming to a poignant and sometimes very difficult time of year for many that have served in our Armed Forces.
If you know an Armed Forces Veteran that maybe feeling lonely and isolated whether they may be a family member or friend, please tell them about us.
Run by a group of Veterans from All Arms, we are a breakfast club that simply puts one Veteran in front of another in a safe and welcoming enviroment to engage in light hearted banter while enjoying each other's company, reminiscing and sharing joint experiences in a miilary pysche allowing individuals to be the individual they were when they served.
Free to attend, no fees, no subscriptions, no obligations, no brow beating into donating to any Military Charities ( we do not require any funding to exist) . We as a group are doing more than our bit as Veterans ourselves and volunteers to save lives and stopping downward spirals..., if someone is down on their luck and struggling, breakfast can be bought for them (either by me, or we can all chip in) and we can provide wrap around support involving all approved agencies if needed.

Our number of online members has more than doubled in the last 2 years from 60 to 160 and typically we can expect anywhere between 20 - 60 members to physically attend our twice monthly meetings at a place cafe's etc of our choosing. There are over 4000 Ex Armed Forces Personnel in Thanet, which we are trying to reach out to.
Thank you to the many professionals and volunteers that support us and East Kent Mind who have helped engage Veterans with their ongoing Veterans project in Thanet and Canterbury.
