Week 7 - Disaster!

Walked through a seemingly innocent looking puddle, carrying stuff at work..

It was hiding a pot hole in which I proceed to go over and twist my ankle, tried to stay up but as I was on a slope went over on my knee and then smashed the hoover I was carrying into the ground jarring my wrist.

A trip to A&E later have sprained wrist, sprained ankle and in need of a MRI on my knee.
So no swimming this week!
Good times!

Week 8 - Slow progress.

After some rest and struggling through work, managed to get back in the pool. Obviously taking it easy and slow meaning number of lengths have severely been reduced but I’m determined to finish. I’m glad I smashed it out at the beginning now. Unfortunately not going to complete it in 8 weeks which was what I had in my head but on a positive note I’ve got to 17 miles and still two months left of the actual challenge time 💪🏽

End of Week 5 (and week 4) 15.32 miles!

These two weeks have been extremely tough.

Tired, adrenaline of getting to 10 miles expended and the added struggle through a horrible bunged up sore throat thing.

It felt like swimming through treacle most of the time.

This distance across the channel is called the separation zone and weirdly it definitely felt like that in the pool.

Hearing some positive news of Mason between the two weeks certainly put my struggle into perspective, motivating me to push on. He spent a week at Stoke Mandeville undergoing tests and had shown improvement across all areas! Go Mason!

Pleased to hit the 15 mile in week 5 of the 12 week challenge..
