🍃🌺Brambles’ Bloom of the Week🌺🍃

Each month (or thereabouts!), we’ll be celebrating a different seasonal flower—showcasing what’s fresh, beautiful, and arriving in the shop right now.

Our bloom for this week is….. Lysimachia Atropurpurea (AKA ‘Purple Loosestrife’.)
In store now, it is a striking flower, featuring burgundy flower spikes above silver-green foliage.

🌺 In peak season in the UK from May to September though it’s native to the Balkans and to Western Asia.
🌼 One of 150 species, Lysimachia belongs to the primrose family.
🎨 Flowers of Lysimachia are five-petalled. They range in colour from purple and pink through to yellow and white.
💐 Last 5–7 days in a vase

🐝 The blooms are extremely attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

Fun fact: Lysimachia is named after King Lysimachos of Thrace (a general in Alexander the Great's army). According to legend, the ancient king discovered the plant and used it to calm a raging ox! 🐂

Two beautiful hanging baskets in store now - £35 each💗😊😍😊💗

We can always make up hanging baskets or planters to order, to save you the hassle. Just let us know what you want or bring in your own empty container and we will plant it up for you.*

We can also do bigger orders for pubs/ hotels/ businesses etc. we recently did some for our local pub The Butchers Arms Pub - Sonning Common and they were really pleased!😊 (see post further down our page).
