🚪 Out with the sliding door, in with the French doors!

Another great transformation by The Shinfield Window Company 🙌

Our customer previously had a patio sliding door, but the downside was that the opening could only ever be opened halfway.

So, we replaced it with these stunning Rosewood Rehau French Doors ❤️🤎

Now they can open the full aperture, creating a much wider opening into the garden and making the space feel far more open and connected to the outside.

The beautiful Rosewood finish gives these doors a traditional, warm appearance while still benefiting from the modern performance of Rehau.

Sometimes it’s not just about replacing a door — it’s about changing the way you use the space. 👌

Another happy customer and another job we’re proud of! 🏡

🏡 A Victorian classic, carefully brought up to date

We’re delighted to have completed this beautiful Victorian-style property, with the aim of improving the windows throughout while retaining the character and charm of the original house.

Our relationship with this customer actually started back in 2024, when we installed their stunning new front door. Fast forward to May this year and, after being so pleased with the door, the customer called us back to replace the windows throughout the property.

One of the most important details was the glass above the front door. The customer wanted the new window to complement the bespoke decorative glass within the door and originally asked for a similar design.

Rather than settling for something that was simply “close enough”, we worked with our glass manufacturer to create a bespoke unit with the pattern replicated to match the original door glass exactly. 🔍

It’s these little details that make such a difference on a character property — modern double glazing and improved performance, without losing the traditional appearance of the home.

The finished result sits beautifully against the original brickwork, decorative detailing and Victorian styling, giving the property a fresh new look while remaining sympathetic to its character.

Another project made special by the details. Another happy customer who came back to us. ❤️

✨ Roof Lantern Upgrade ✨

Another roof lantern transformation completed by The Shinfield Window Company.

The original PVC roof lantern had started to leak, while its heavier framework and multiple bars were restricting the amount of natural light entering the room.

We removed the old lantern and replaced it with a modern aluminium roof lantern, designed to give this space a much cleaner and more contemporary finish.

With significantly fewer bars, the new lantern allows far more natural light to flood into the room, creating a brighter and more open feel. The aluminium construction also provides improved thermal performance, helping to make the space more comfortable throughout the year.

Most importantly, the leaking old lantern has been replaced with a professionally installed, weather-tight system, giving the homeowner peace of mind for years to come.

More light. Better insulation. Modern aesthetics. No more leaks. ☀️🏠

Making Better Use of Space

Another great transformation completed by the team at The Shinfield Window Company 🔨

We’ve bricked up half of the existing doorway, carefully matching into the existing brickwork and finishing with new plinth bricks across the top course.

The result is a smart, modern anthracite grey window, giving the kitchen a much more practical layout while allowing the customer to make better use of the available space.

By reducing the doorway and creating additional wall space, the client can now add more worktop and kitchen units — improving both the look and functionality of the kitchen.

A relatively simple change, but one that makes a big difference to how the space can be used. 👌

🌿 Fir Green French Doors

A lovely set of French doors installed in RAL 6009 Fir Green at this beautiful property.

The colour works really well with the existing timber cladding and gives the doors a more traditional feel, while the large glazed panels bring plenty of light into the room and open the space up onto the terrace.

A simple change that makes a big difference.

✨ From a Small Doorway to a Stunning Open Living Space! ✨

What a transformation! 🤩

Our customer wanted to create a better connection between their home and garden, so we removed the existing back door and window, along with the brickwork below, to create one large opening.

The result? A beautiful new white aluminium bifold door that completely changes the space.

📏 Before: 800mm opening
📏 After: 2,400mm opening

That’s three times the access to the garden, flooding the home with natural light and creating the perfect indoor-outdoor living space for relaxing, entertaining, and family life.

It’s amazing how one structural alteration can make a home feel so much bigger, brighter, and more modern.

Thinking about opening up your home? We’d love to help bring your ideas to life.
