I’ve always been drawn to old wooden furniture. Partly because I love the craftsmanship, but also because it reminds me of my grandparents’ farmhouse - a place I loved spending time in.

It made me think about the objects we choose to keep around us. Often they aren’t the most useful or valuable things we own. They’re reminders of people, places and experiences that matter to us.

Research suggests we feel more at ease in environments that reflect who we are and where we’ve come from. Perhaps that’s why certain objects survive every clear-out and every house move.

A chair inherited from a family member. Artwork collected on trips away. Something that sparks a memory every time you walk past it. They connect us to our story.

And that sense of familiarity is often part of what makes a house feel like home.

What’s one object in your home you’d never part with?

I love this guest bathroom. It’s intentionally very calm and cocooning, a space that feels like a bit of a reset. The one place a guest gets a moment to themselves. Nothing tries too hard here, we kept the palette super soft and muted, everything works quietly together. Whilst it’s a small room, I like to think it shifts the pace, even if you’re only in it for a few minutes.

The only interiors trend I’m interested in this year is self trust.

We’ve been taught to look outward—to follow, to save.

But the spaces that really work come from something else entirely.

They’re built from what you’re drawn to, what you’ve collected, what actually supports your life.

I’ve been writing more about this—about trends, and what’s underneath them, how to use them in a helpful way and I’ve got a longer piece coming on this, which I’ll be sharing over the weekend.

Back with another moment of beauty… giving myself some space and time to soak it all in and feel inspired.

This time the answer was a solo trip to Charleston House — home to Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, and a gathering place for the Bloomsbury Group. A circle of artists, writers and thinkers — including Virginia Woolf and John Maynard Keynes — who came together to imagine society differently, with art and experimentation at the centre of everyday life.

You can still feel that energy and creativity in the house. It’s a really fascinating and inspiring place to visit. There’s just so much creativity, art, story and personality.

It really reinforced for me how important it is for our homes to reflect us.

Calm is a skill.
And it’s one your environment is constantly shaping.

The spaces we live in influence how we move through our day, how much mental energy things require, and how regulated we feel in the background of everyday life.

When a home flows well, holds what it needs to hold, and feels visually settled, calm becomes easier to access.

This is the role of thoughtful design.
Not just to create something beautiful, but to shape how a space is lived in.

Have you ever noticed a space that made you instantly exhale?

“It’s not too overly designed. It feels effortless…”
“You don’t push a style that doesn’t suit the client or home.”

Feedback like this always means so much.
Every project is about working with you to shape a home that feels personal, considered, and entirely your own.

The most important design decisions are the least visible.

A beautiful photograph can capture colour, texture and atmosphere.

What it can’t show is how a space truly supports everyday life.

Behind every finished room is a process of understanding how it needs to function — from morning routines and busy evenings to quieter moments of rest.

Considerations around layout, storage, light and movement shape how a home feels to live in over time. These quieter decisions are the ones that make the greatest difference.

Good design is not only about creating something visually appealing.

It is about creating somewhere that feels intuitive, comfortable and personal to the people who live there.

if you’re planning changes to your home, begin with how you want to live, the aesthetics can follow.

Behind closed doors | “Is there a space or detail that’s had a bigger impact than you expected?”

“Yes , the drying cupboard.

It has made a huge difference having a utility room that feels calm, uncluttered and genuinely beautiful. Everything is hidden away behind doors.

The drying cupboard works so well. Clothes are out of sight, dry quickly, and don’t need ironing — which is a bonus.”

Resurfacing to wish you a Happy New Year

Yes, I know — it’s the 18th.

I was actually back at work on the 5th, but I’ve been wintering. And aside from work and Pilates, I wasn’t quite ready to emerge from evenings on the sofa with the woodburner going.

Christmas was a proper switch-off , so I’m feeling rested, recharged, and back to working on some lovely projects.

These days I’m not big on New Year hype, but I have been reflecting on 2025 and how the business is evolving and growing. I’ve got some new ideas quietly taking shape for 2026, I can’t wait to share more on that soon.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support me — 2026 is GO
