Cubicle 1 Creations Handstitched felt gifts & creations for the home using just a needle & thread, plus needle felted work too! Unique designs. No machines. All my own work.

Available from Windermere, Guisborough, Kirkleatham (Redcar), or direct order. Based in N. Yorkshire. Hi, my name is Rachael Welby and I create handstitched gifts and creations for the home using felt. My designs are all my own work, from sketching the initial design to cutting out, before finally stitching (and stuffing). I stitch all my creations by hand with just a needle and thread giving that unique human touch to my work. I pride myself on the quality, care, and attention to detail when making each piece. Most of what I make is made to order and this page showcases what I have made. Many of my designs can be altered to suit your needs or decor. All you need to do is ask! The name 'Cubicle 1 Creations' gives a nod to my late son James, from when he received radiotherapy and chemotherapy for his inoperable brain tumour, which he was diagnosed with at just 6 months old. He spent many weeks and months in hospital and Cubicle 1 was his room on the hospital ward. He sadly passed away in 2012, aged 10. I dedicate Cubicle 1 Creations to my boy James.

my needle felt Herdwick sheep at From the Heart Studio in Windermere, 10am - 5pm*

and my needle felt Herdwick sheep and toadstools, along with a selection of handstitched gifts at Westgate Pottery in Guisborough High Street. 10am - 3pm*

Today is Friday, which means the Off The Wall Collective is open at Kirkleatham Walled Garden • The Garden Café !

Come and check out the lovely products on sale all of which are made locally. Whilst there stay and enjoy a coffee or lunch in the cafe and wander round the gardens that are full of autumn delights.

Why are Tuesdays always so quiet on here? 🤔

But today is Wednesday and if you didn't see my natural wool bauble collection yesterday take a look at my previous post.

This week's Woolly Wednesday features my BAUBLES OF COLOUR!

These have a 100% BRITISH Herdwick wool core with a covering of ethically sourced recycled Indian sari silk.

These are the first 3 colour blends available, with more colours on their way!

Measuring approx 6.5cm.
From £5 each.
Can be bought individually or as a set of 2, 4 or 6.

BALLS! Or should I say BAUBLES?!

I am putting together a range of woolly gifts and Christmas sheep decorations for you all, but I am
not quite ready to reveal all as I am struggling to find little finishing touches like for example miniature sheep Santa hats - it's weird how I don't get any results back when I google search for them.😆 I have bought quite a few different ones, but none of them have the right fit.😔

So for now here are my woolly balls!

I love sheep 🐑🐑 and alot of you out there do too, however I am aware there are those of you out there who love the natural hues and the organic texture of wool, but don't neccessarily want a sheep hanging on their tree. I get that.

So here are my baubles. These can be bought individually or as a collection. Each bauble measures approx 6.5cm diameter and they are made by me and are all entirely 100% BRITISH WOOL, with no polystyrene ball inside.

The wool used for the baubles below are -
L - R Masham, Swaledale, Herdwick and Wensleydale.

The brightly colourful recycled sari silk blends will also be available.

Priced from £5* each.

Card payments can be accepted on these days too, just pay at the Collective till near the entrance to the garden.

Well done to those who got it right!

Yes, Hetty the herdy joined us today on a quick trip over to Whitby!

She did get abit sulky because we didn't have time for her to jump about in amongst the ruins of Whitby Abbey and the boundary wall had to suffice.

It took us longer to get there than we spent there with the Moor road being closed due to a serious accident late last night, and the diversion signs and google maps fibbing about a driveable diversion. But at least the sun was shining, we got to explore some very narrow new-to-us country lanes of North Yorkshire and we got chance to see lots of Hetty's cousin's grazing amongst the heather. We even saw some real herdies too!

NEW TO KIRKLEATHAM WALLED GARDEN FROM TODAY! 🌸🌼

I am so excited to share with you all that for 3 days a week (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) alongside my own work you will find a range of products made by a select number of local artists and creators on sale in the cafe. You will find specially chosen handmade creations, gifts and art prints on sale.

My gifts and creations will be staying 7 days a week as normal, but it's so exciting to be joined by creativity and local talent a few days a week!

For those who are regulars you will notice my shelves have moved to a new location, but don't worry they are just the other side of the cafe, and what's more on these 3 days card payments are accepted!

Make sure you pop by when you visit the gardens or cafe!

Please note - Monday to Thursday - for now it remains cash payments only and please at the cafe tills. Thankyou.
