The Great British Wool mills list! Now you can REALLY get to know and support them! Let’s get everyone seen and public informed.
There are 42 operating Great British wool mills here in the U.K. and we very much look forward to The Mill of Kintyre when it launches.
The selection criteria for the list was that there had to be British wool processing in the heart of current operations and that there was some wool primary processing in there otherwise every weaver and knitting machine premises would be included making the list too long. That said it has been lovely to see the weavers and knitting machine businesses on our two Facebook groups Great British Woollen Mills and Great British Knitwear
The web page is very easy to edit and I want it to be constantly accessible to all, all in one place.
What do you think? Have I missed anyone?

I couldn’t add the 🪦 RIP list it would be too long but here goes…. Sadly we have lost Griffiths Mill, New Lanark Mill, Lilipop, not officially but West Yorkshire Spinners has halted production potentially leaving a black hole of 600 tonnes of British wool processing which we now must work hard together to repair
I urge everyone to come together to get behind our British woollen textile industry to keep our current mills supported because they are doing really well and push our industry to grow
