Together We Rise | The Walk Home

Two paintings. One shared truth.

Inspired by the Reclaim the Night Walk in Paisley, 2025, these works explore two sides of women’s experience.

Together We Rise celebrates solidarity — women supporting, protecting and standing beside one another.

The Walk Home explores what happens when that solidarity falls away — the vulnerability, vigilance and fear that can return when we walk alone.

Together, they ask why safety so often rests with those at risk, rather than those who threaten it.

We should all be free to walk home without fear.

She Burns

I was recently asked about my painting She Wasn’t Waiting for You.

Inspired by Tina, a painting that hung in my gran’s house, I wanted to challenge the idea of women existing for the gaze, approval, or convenience of others.

She isn’t waiting to be chosen, admired, or defined by someone else.

She is simply existing without expectation.
