On this rainy September morning I started the third miniature in the series 'Summer Memories' inspired by seeing my grandchildren having fun and making memories on the beach. This one is particularly poignant because my grandson started in Reception today. He wasn't happy about the end of his long carefree days playing in the sunshine but he walked in without a tear and smiled bravely back at his mummy and daddy 🩵. I know he's going to love school and he's definitely ready for it.

I was recently asked to do a second commission for a lovely lady who adores her hens. It got me thinking of one of our own free range chickens, Wilhomena, who was a real character and made it her life's work to escape from the garden on a regular basis, as well as trotting around, joining in games with my children. This print of her, 'Wilhomena Hen' is available in my Etsy shop and the original will also be for sale in the near future

We've had such a lovely weekend away with our little grandson. He played football, made sandcastles, ate lots of ice cream, paddled and splashed in the sea, and even caught a whale😉. He finished nursery last week and that time has gone in the blink of an eye, but I feel so blessed to be able to create memories with our grandchildren that will last forever 🩵
