Lampshade Making Workshop
Join Us on Sunday 26 April for this full one day workshop
We are absolutely delighted to be joined by a professional lampshade maker Lisa who has worked for many years contracted to hand make thousands of lampshades for our well known high street retailers.
Lisa will teach you the tricks of the trade and everything you will need to know about lampshade making in this fun filled beginners workshop.
No sewing involved!
Meet new people, make two different types of lampshades, a Drum and an Empire, whilst having a lovely day out in our gorgeous shop, Rosie and Clover in Ripon.
This is a beginners workshop but you will come away full of confidence knowing how to make stunning lampshades to a professional finish. No previous experience is required.
And who knows, you may even turn your new found lampshade making skills into a new hobby or business!
What’s Involved?
9.30am arrival
Meet and Greet
Morning Coffee etc
Group Size
Maximum of 6 people
Morning Session
10am - 1pm
Learn how to make a Drum Lampshade with your choice of lining in either Champagne, White or Brushed Silver.
Break for Lunch
Enjoy a wander around the gorgeous city of Ripon whilst grabbing a bite to eat
Afternoon Session
2pm - 5pm
Learn how to make an Empire Lampshade with your choice of lining in either Champagne, White or Silver.
Take home two stunning lampshades. (The Drum shade could also be used alternatively as a ceiling pendant shade.)
What You Will Need to Bring:
A packed lunch
Your choice of fabric, or fabrics, if you are not making two matching lampshades. Ideally the fabric should be made up in a cotton or cotton/polyester mix or linen.
Approximately 0.5 metres drop x 135cm wide per lampshade.
If you are uncertain about your fabrics suitability please pop in to see us, or send a photo of the fabric, in advance of the workshop to the email address given below.
What is Provided?
Scissors/Tools
All the Lampshade components
Refreshments - help yourselves to copious amounts of Tea/Coffee, cakes, biscuits etc available for you to indulge in throughout the day
Unless you are bringing your own, suitable Fabrics can be purchased on the day from Rosie and Clover.
If we need to order fabric in for you it should be chosen and purchased no later than two weeks before the workshop date by popping in to see us no later than 11 April.

We do not have parking at the shop .
We recommend using the car park at St Mary’s Gate behind Sainsburys
