Every old building keeps a ledger of its past lives, not in paper books, but in wood, stone, and brick. When you spend enough time within these walls, you start noticing the little quirks and craftsmanship that give the Old Chemist Shop its eccentric, enduring heartbeat.

Look up from the street, and you’ll spot the ornate stone corbel holding steady beneath the mock-Tudor gable, carved with floral flourishes above deep red masonry and the old iron hooks for the shop blinds that are now long gone. Step inside, and the stories shift into warm timber. There are carved rosettes set into dark oak panels, honest scars in the door mouldings where old fittings once lived, and the warm rhythm of vertical pine panelling that’s absorbed decades of chatter, potion-mixing, and curiosity-collecting. Even overhead, the painted beadboard ceiling tells tales of past alterations, with an unpainted patch of raw wood bridging a gap from a renovation long forgotten.

Old houses aren’t meant to be perfectly sleek. They’re meant to hold memories, slight imperfections, and character you simply can't manufacture.

I found a box from my bedroom in our old family home! 🌞🌜⭐This box brought back memories of my late teens/early 20s, before I moved out. My parents helped me decorate bedroom with moons and stars - even painting the ceiling , woodwork and radiator black and painting stars and moons in gold on all the black paint and doors.
Happy times.
I still love the celestial aesthetic, but some of these are up for offers.
