This Shaker kitchen in Brockenhurst was created as part of a full reconfiguration of the home, relocating the kitchen to a brighter position with direct access to the garden.

Designed within a converted barn, the aim was to transform a previously dark and confined space into one that feels open, light and easy to use.

The cabinetry is from the Mackintosh Sovereign range, finished in Painted Spitfire, while worktops are in 20mm Leathered Luna Grey, adding a subtle texture and depth.

Appliances are by NEFF and are integrated to maintain a clean, cohesive look throughout the kitchen.

At the centre of the design is an L-shaped island, created to improve flow and movement. The clients introduced their own live oak feature, raising part of the island surface and bringing a natural, tactile element into the room.

The result is a kitchen that feels open, functional and filled with natural light, with a strong connection to both the home and its setting.

At Herbert William Kitchens & Interiors, we are absolutely delighted to congratulate the Brockenhurst U14 Honey Badgers on an incredible achievement, being crowned league champions after an unbeaten season, finishing with a dramatic 3–2 victory over Gosport Sapphires in their final HGYFL fixture.

The talented Brockenhurst youth football side delivered an outstanding campaign, winning every league match, scoring 69 goals, and conceding just 10. Their success highlights the strength of girls’ football in Brockenhurst and the continued growth of youth football in the New Forest area.

The Honey Badgers’ rise has been guided by coaches James Waller and Jamie Dunning, whose positive coaching style has helped develop a confident, hardworking, and united team over the past three seasons. Team manager and girls’ football co-ordinator Becci Madole also praised the squad’s commitment and togetherness as key factors behind their success.

Brockenhurst Youth FC continues to expand its girls’ football programme, now running four teams across multiple age groups. Alongside the U14 Honey Badgers, the U15 Harriers are pushing for top honours, while new teams—the U12 Vixens and U10 Braves—have been introduced this season. The club is aiming to grow even further, with plans to expand to five girls’ teams next year.

In just four years, girls’ football at Brockenhurst has grown from a small group into more than a third of the club’s youth setup, reflecting increasing participation and enthusiasm for the game locally.

We are so proud to sponsor the Honey Badgers. The sponsorship has helped fund the team’s match kit throughout the season, supporting grassroots sport and the development of young players in the local community.

Supporting local initiatives like Brockenhurst Youth FC is an important part of our commitment to giving back and investing in the communities we work within. We are delighted to see the Honey Badgers achieve such incredible success and look forward to supporting their continued journey.

Set within a new build in Sway, this kitchen was designed as a relaxed yet refined space for a holiday home - somewhere to cook, gather, and unwind.

We used Mackintosh’s Sovereign range in Limestone and Jade to create a soft, natural palette, paired with Calacatta Gold worktops for a subtle touch of luxury. A Falcon Rangemaster takes centre stage, supported by NEFF and Elica appliances for everyday ease.

Alongside the main kitchen, we also designed a utility room and a dedicated bar/pantry area - perfect for effortless hosting.

A nice detail on this project: our clients are particularly tall, so we increased the plinth height to raise the worktops, ensuring the space feels just as comfortable as it is beautiful.

A thoughtful, tailored design that proves the smallest adjustments can make the biggest difference.✨
