Clyde Valley Antiques

Clyde Valley Antiques We were forced to close the shop down in December 2025, following the sale of the garden centre we were based in.

Permanently closed.

Currently no easy options exist to re-open elsewhere in the local area.

60 display cabinets plus other shop display items, might sell some.

As I mentioned in a previous post, we had a visit in April last year from the Antiques Road Trip in the form of Danny Sebastian, who was great fun. Well, just short of a year later, that episode is finally being shown on Monday afternoon next week.

Usually we would expect a decent increase in footfall after a new Road Trip from our shop is screened, maybe not this time though!

Farewell to Dug, Andrew’s best pal and a firm favourite of everyone who visited the garden centre. I’ll definitely miss him!

A poignant moment this afternoon as Andrew Scott takes down his sign from the garden centre entrance before its renovation and re-opening under the ownership of the Goulding family. Truly a changing of the guard, from one family to another.

Just taking this opportunity to wish all our past customers a very Happy New Year and to thank all those who helped to sort out the chaos of our ongoing shop closure. Every little thing helped from putting things into boxes, to helping dismantle the sales desk. It’s all greatly appreciated.

It’s been a huge task, with more than a few late nights along the way. Still got a few more days of work to tidy up the last odds and ends from the shop, including a few hours today.

As yet, I’m not sure what to do after this and am not ruling out opening another shop if a suitable location can be found but when all of this is over, I think that a few months rest is called for at the very least!

I’ve had a few phone calls this morning asking if we’re open. Our last trading day was December 24th, currently just packing up all the last minute odds and ends. A good few days of that to do before it’s finished!

That’s the last official day of trading for us at Rosebank finished, more items boxed up and moved out. Quite a few people in for some last minute bargains too!

It’s starting to look a bit emptier now.

Literally just one day more before we close our shop in Rosebank for good. It’s Christmas and there’s apparently no room at the inn!

Still got all the albums available at half price plus a variety of framed pictures and a multitude of odds and ends, including some pieces of small furniture discounted as well. So, if you’re in the valley tomorrow, feel free to drop by, you might pick up a few last minute bargains!

Most of all thank you all for your support over the years. It’s been a long and winding or is that twisted road, since I opened up Garrion Bridges Antique & Arts Centre in September 2006 with the help of my late father Jim. I could say a lot about that time period, none of it good! After Garrion came Greenside Antiques from 2011 to 2018 and then a brief, expensive and pointless stay in Crossford, where the name became Clyde Valley Antiques. That lasted from 2019 to 2021. Our stay in Rosebank lasted from April 2021 to December 2025 and was by far the nicest location that we have had thus far.

As yet there are no clear plans for 2026 but who knows what is yet to come. Whether I have another physical shop or not, my father and I changed the Clyde Valley for good, there certainly wouldn’t be an “Antique Centre” at Garrion if it wasn’t for us.

Along the way I’ve hosted four Bargain Hunt TV shows and about thirteen or fourteen Antiques Road Trip shows, the most recently filmed one hasn’t even been shown yet. Watch out for it next year with Danny Sebastian visiting us at Rosebank.

Thanks again for all your support over the years, it is very much appreciated!

This song seems appropriate for the current situation.
