A lovely project nearing completion.
A true pleasure collaborating with the respected Carlos Elsesser of AAC Studio, whose considered architectural vision and sophisticated design created such a refined foundation for this project. A joy to be brought in and add further layers as the design continues to evolve.

There is something incredibly rewarding about stepping into a project at this stage, revisiting key decisions and introducing considered layers that bring clarity, cohesion and a sense of calm to how the home willa be lived in. Beauty and functionality working together.

The open plan kitchen, dining and living areas flow effortlessly, opening out onto the garden and creating a natural connection between inside and out.

The next stage will be refining room layouts and flow, working with existing furnishings and sourcing new pieces to gently elevate the interiors.

I spent time with my lighting designer Ellie, carefully considering the garden lighting design, an important layer that will shape how the space is experienced into the evening.

I love a connection and a collaboration!

Whether we are connecting with each other, collaborating with each other or with textures, fabrics, furnishings and interiors I find it so exciting. All at different degrees of course!

A lovely friend introduced me to a lovely independent upholsterer Harry and voila some rather drab stools have been beautifully recreated and now connect to these interiors! Thank you so much!

The warmth of the pinky terracotta connects the outside in and amongst each other adds a little sunshine which is just what we all need at the moment.

Autumn 🍂

Becoming Cozy and Intimate

As we adjust to letting go of those Summer days a more intimate, embracing layout to our space creates warmth and comfort.

Cuddling up with family and friends gives us that sense of security we need as the nights draw in. Bring seating closer together to encourage conversation, position chairs and sofas around a central point perhaps a coffee table, large ottoman or fireplace. Adding layers, rugs, textural cushions, throws and snuggling up in smaller more defined spaces for reading or relaxing embodies just what you want to achieve in the room.

Accessorise with natural elements like dried hydrangeas, pinecones, chestnuts, Autumnal wreathes or wooden accents to bring the season indoors. Add several candles in warm scents cinnamon or cedar to instantly cosy up a space.

Lighting is essential changing a lamp, the texture, the colour or fabric of a lampshade or even bulbs change it up to a more intimate cosiness as the nights drawn in.

Autumn is all about creating that transition to warmth and comfort, embracing the season’s rich, earthy tones, deep, warm, tones like burnt orange, terra cotta, ochre, mustard, and rich browns setting an enveloping Autumnal mood.

Decorex 24 you were everything and much more! Decorex International

On a glorious Autumnal day, we explored all sorts -

Natural materials, raw, fabulous and tactile.

Woods, cashmere, stone, marble, metals, glass, rattan, straw, prints, weaves so much a feature, so much desired!

Just loved meeting so many British artisans which was wonderful to connect, I admire their passion for all things natural.

Neutrals in their natural state, colours but more subtle in some senses, yet vibrant for those who are willing to take that leap!

Lighting was seriously featured utilising again natural stones, linens, rattans, bamboo and weaves and an abundance of mixed metals. Sculptural shapes - think natural forms and materials mimicking organic elements.

These combinations create a dynamic, layered look that adds sophistication without overwhelming a space.

We need to consider our innate love for natural materials which reflect not just a desire for sustainability, but also a need for homes to feel calm, timeless, and more connected to nature—while staying practical. All so important!

Organic textures, durable fabrics, and ecofriendly materials are naturally beautiful and whether it is the warmth of wood, the strength of stone, or the softness of natural fibres, these elements bring both beauty and function, creating spaces that are as comfortable as they are stylish.
