If I had a £1,500 wedding flower budget, these are the 3 things I’d prioritise…

As a wedding florist, I’m often asked where couples should spend their flower budget to make the biggest impact.

My answer is usually this:

1. Your bridal bouquet

Your bouquet will be in some of your most important photographs and by your side for most of the day. A beautiful, thoughtfully designed bouquet is always worth investing in.

2. Statement ceremony flowers

Whether it’s urns, floor meadows or a floral arch, ceremony flowers create a huge visual impact and set the tone for the day. Even better, many designs can be repurposed for your reception afterwards.

3. A few larger moments rather than lots of little ones

I’d always choose one or two impactful floral installations over spreading the budget too thinly. A couple of beautiful statement pieces will have far more impact than lots of smaller arrangements.

The good news? Wedding flowers don’t have to cost a fortune to look beautiful. With thoughtful design and seasonal blooms, it’s possible to create a luxurious look at a range of budgets.

If you’re planning your wedding and wondering how best to spend your flower budget, we’d love to help!

Why I retrained as a florist

My floristry career actually started later in life. I have a degree in Events Management, worked in London for years and then devoted time to being a full-time mum to my two children before deciding to follow my dream of becoming a florist.

I retrained, worked for other florists and gained as much experience as possible before eventually taking the leap and opening Bloom.

Running a business as a single mum is a constant juggle. Days are filled with school runs, flowers, consultations and all the admin that happens behind the scenes. Weekends can look like setting up a wedding one day and standing on the sidelines at my son’s football match the next.

Instagram often shows the beautiful flowers, weddings and events — but not always the hard work, pressure and balancing act behind them.

Bloom supports myself, my children and my team, and I never take for granted that people choose us to be part of such important moments in their lives.

I’m incredibly grateful to every customer who has supported Bloom and helped turn a dream into reality.

Real wedding ~ Nicole & Harry

For Nicole and Harry’s wedding florals, the brief was soft pastel tones paired with lush summer blooms — featuring peonies, garden roses, delphinium, scabiosa and lisianthus.

Nicole carried a cascading bouquet filled with romantic texture and movement, while each bridesmaid held a single stem bouquet using flowers from the bridal design for a modern, fresh feel.

For the ceremony, we created a bright and luxurious setting with statement urns and aisle meadows, later repurposed throughout the reception alongside bud vases for the tables.

The overall look was soft, fresh and romantic — a joy to create 🤍
