One of the magical things about opening the kiln is coming across a beautiful vase like this when you didn’t load it. 🥰

Morning! This cute seagull is just minding its own business on a coaster . It was recently painted at one of our grown up glazing evenings. This is a 2.5 hour session for adults only and you are welcome to bring your own bottle of something.

Sorry…it’s taken a little while but…I promised part 2 of the Paint a Platter with me and here it is.

We often get asked by our painters if they should carry on adding or stop and leave be. Well…in this case I was wondering the same thing but carried on anyway.

I first did some sgraffito, which is a technique involving scratching through a top layer of glaze in this case to reveal a contrasting color underneath.

I didn’t stop there and went on to splatter black all over - going with the flow at this point.

I don’t mind the final outcome but keep looking at it going…should have stopped at part 1 🤪🙃

The hardest part is choosing which piece of pottery to paint and then it’s unleashing your inner artist and glazing the session away 🫟🎨🖌️
