Last week I ran a weaving retreat at Merchant & Mills in Rye, with 5 wonderful participants. A big thank you to everyone (particularly Lucy) and to all the dedicated and students who made the retreat so enjoyable.
We are currently developing a new retreat that will centre around warp painting, if this interests people do get in touch.

Big News! A space has opened up on my weaving retreat at the wonderful in June, where you will design and weave your own scarf on a vintage 4 shaft table loom.
It’s a magical place and a calm yet productive environment, the link to book is in my bio.

Last Wednesday I had the honour of being admitted to The Clothworkers’ Company, as a member of the Freedom.

Here I am smiling away with my mentor .j and my partner after the ceremony.

The Clothworkers’ Company is a leading supporter of UK Textiles.
One of London’s great 12 livery companies, they have been championing Textiles since 1528.

I’m back all set up and weaving at my pop-up weave station
I have handwoven baby blankets, scarves and cushions for sale. I’m also taking bespoke orders, they make fantastic Christmas gifts.

Hello Instagram, let me introduce myself.

I’m Claire Whelan, aka WhelansWeaving and here I am wearing my giant handwoven scarf.
This month for the last two weeks of November, I will be hosting a pop-up studio and shop. Filled with handwoven items and plenty of colour. Also some of my own artwork will be for sale.

I am excited to share that I’ll be setting up my loom for a WhelansWeaving pop-up and studio installation at the wonderful on Kings Road from 20th November- 1st December.
Expect giant weaves, festive bespoke present ideas and lots of colour!

I am offering a handwoven scarf service this winter, with an emphasis on personalised colourways. These handwoven, woollen pieces make excellent gifts for a loved one.
