I decided I could get used to reels if I can cover them in silly stickers.
Can you see the vision here?

Afternoon!
I'm having to quit pottery.
At least for a day, well an afternoon-ish, I have over 300 items made and can only glaze fire 5 x 2 each day. If I don't stop making things I'm going to die in a pottery related avalanche. But I keep going on Pinterest and getting ideas. And even when they aren't pottery ideas, somehow they turn into pottery ideas, like these driftwood sticks. I mean I have a bag of driftwood somewhere, but somehow ceramic ones will look prettier hanging embroidery from. So I made about 30, because choice is important. I'll probably fire them in November 2027 at this rate. If there are any single potters out there with big kilns who would like to take on a middle aged batty lady that makes really good bread just let me know 😉 though could you imagine living with 2 potters? My poor sons are already complaining about me drying mugs in the oven and setting things on fire in the garden. I guess it's a spinster life for me x

I recently realised 90% of my colours are kinda vintage library vibes (which is fine by me) olives, ochre, browns, turquoises etc. But I kinda remembered it's supposed to be summer, and though I won't be going full Cath Kidston on you (did you know I once made 11 lampshades for a Cath Kidston Catalogue?) I did recently slather a few of these new moth designs in primrose, aqua, lilac and soft rose glazes just to brighten things up....they will be in my first shop update, which will be possibly in a week, as the "break" I'm on to catch up with orders is still 16 hours days. And will be following by an actual break of at least 1 day (still doing pottery obviously but in a nonchalant fashion) today I have an important wedding commission in the kiln, which I wasn't happy with and remade, so fingers crossed it comes out lovely or it will be their 5th anniversary before they get it!
Right I best drink a bucket of coffee and pack a few mugs..

Luv ya, you're amazing x

I'm thinking as frames...lined with a little moss?
Looking for more non food safe ideas since the queue for my glaze kiln is too long and I can't keep working 'til the small hours, thoughts?

Recently I treated myself to these blinking adorable candles from the lovely (you'll be gobsmacked by the price so go get some before they see sense and double it) I had some candlestick designs in mind but one broke, which I took as a sign (too fussy, too flimsy, need to be more chunky) then about midnight last night while waiting for the kiln, my little fingers were doodling a few new standing mushrooms and it occurred to me the stems were looking a bit like tree trunks. ....then I thought there could easily be a little pocket for a candle....and obviously I got carried away! So these magical tree trunks and mushrooms are my new candlestick designs! Still in prototype stages as I need to make sure they will stand nicely, but if it's a problem I can add a little plate at the bottom to steady them, as we all know a weighty bottom is a wonderful thing 😉 they don't look much in their naked state but once they are fired and glazed (like my tree mug) I see great things for them what do you think?

Have a great day, I'm off to drown in coffee for a bit ###

I've just written a post nearly as long as David Attenborough life story, but no one really wants the loooooooong story, so to summarise
1) my main kiln keeps breaking, it's not fixable.
2) that means to keep up with preorders I'm working 14hour days
3) I'm too old and ill for this s**t
4) wtf! you think I'd quit?
5) nah, but I'm thinking about reshuffling (because its important to adapt)
6) so there's going to be a period of switcheroo-ness
7) and then 90% of my stock will be ready made, so I can go crazy and make beautiful clay babies without the time pressure...
8) what does this mean for you? a bit more competition for the good stuff I'm afraid, because its going to limit what I can sell....If you love my stuff (you know you do) you might need to sign up for my newsletter to see it (or just to be a good egg and support a slightly {madly} frustrated potter who deserves a break)

Thank you for listening to that waffle (believe me that was the short version!)

You're awesome,I appreciate you ###

So I sat down for 5 minutes at 8.30am to do a couple of bits out of clay. It's now 1pm and I've only just realised because I'm about to eat my own arm. There isn't a flat surface in the room that doesn't have a wet clay thing in it. AND I haven't made the thing for the customer that I was gonna. I'm off to eat some of these fellers little brothers in an omelette. Do you get carried away making things?

I do love my garden, but I work in it not on it! I have no idea where the quince bush arrived from and why do the pigeons want to eat the berries while they are still green? (Nets are going up asap) I used to put nettles in soups as they are just like spinach but I don't get time to cook as much as I did when my boys were little. My garden is much smaller than it was as they have built a house in half of it but it's still a bit much for me, I have managed to put up 5 shed in it though, for kilns, sewing stuff and one day a tiny shop. Today the aromas are not so great in the studio, so I'm working at the lounge table and swearing at that pigeon. Have you ever seen pigeon earrings? They are so cute, though this guy after my berries is clearly evil.
Right that's enough waffle

Morning! It's been a great week, so many things have gone right, but due to a mix up I've had to come off hrt for the last week, and even the washing up makes me want to cry! I mean, I'm really happy but my body is tearful, menopause is weird. Any recommendation from survivors?
Above is a bit of a photo dump of lovely things, sorry for the mini videos, my camera seems to think video is my normal setting and it takes me a few seconds to realise. The first one made me chortle, as it a true representation of how "tipsy" I am, with my balance issues from chronic fatigue.
The rose is one I bought for mum last summer to brighten up her view from her chair, that came home with me after she passed away, oh dear here I go...
The shelf of ready to go items is thinning, I have a lot of packing to get on with today so a quick 2nd breakfast and it will be boxes everywhere again, hope you are enjoying the beautiful rain x
