I will visit, discuss, measure up and provide an inclusive quote, taking pictures and communicating throughout the project. Furthermore, I post pictures on my page regularly so you can keep in touch with progress. All work is carried out in my fully equipped 'Ladyshed' with doors flung wide and music blaring ;)

🥾I’m proud to support Rorky & chums take on the Dolomites! ⛰️
 
This September, my brother Rorky and his crew are swapping comfortable shoes for hiking boots and taking on a seriously tough mountain challenge.

They’re doing it to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer, in memory of Rorky’s gorgeous wife Lise, who sadly lost her five-year battle with cancer last year. ❤️

Hiking from Alpbach, Austria; the place Rob and Lise first met- across the spectacular Dolomites to Venice.

The herculean challenge involves exhaustively long days, tackling thousands of metres of arduous climbing, energy sapping high-altitude terrain and some death defying via ferrata – ‘The Iron Path’ – look it up, it’s seriously impressive and you will wonder “what on earth are they thinking?” 🤣

Lise left smiles in the hearts of everyone who knew her, and this epic trip is a pretty spectacular way to honour her.

Every donation, however big or small, will help support Young Lives vs Cancer and the vital work they do for young people and families living with cancer.

This much loved modern chesterfield was about as knackered as they come; the chipboard frame was snapped, back rail twisted, springs buckled and stuffed full of old cushions to keep it useable 🤪

But beyond repair ? - Not a bit of it!

Replacement timber glued and clamped, reset rail reinforced and bolted, new springs installed and lashed before the fun of 81 buttons over van-dyked red velvet begins 🤩

🎉 Edwardian Extravaganza (Part 2)

From a flock of ugly ducklings to a bevy of beautiful swans… with a fair bit of blister inducing work in between 😉

This suite, comprising a century-old pair of armchairs and a drop-arm sofa, required intensive care from every angle, including complete seat rebuilds a’plenty.

Stripping back the upholstery revealed the original covers, sending the project in an unexpected direction via ‘a conspiracy of conical springs’—a wholly unofficial collective noun that only traditional seat-building upholsterers are likely to appreciate. 😉

What followed was a gamut of labour-intensive, time-honoured techniques: legions of lashing, zillions of scrupulous stitches, and countless hours of traditional hand craftsmanship. 🪡🧵
