Even before I started making candles, I loved them. The way they created magic and ambience on dark evenings in my lounge. I liked pillar candles in particular for the statement they made. But often there were only bland generic pillar candles on offer in the shops. To my frustration this wasn’t what I was looking for. So 5 years ago I started making my own pillar designs! Using my interest in art
to create something different. From my own experience scent is not always wanted from a candle, especially when eating, and people like myself who have asthma, sometimes struggle with some scented candles. Making unique pillar candles that weren’t boring and could be enjoyed by everybody became my focus. For their beauty, ambience and magic, they wouldn’t need anything else. They were Unashamedly Unscented! Of course as a candle maker I also love Scented Pillars and intend to bring them to Jomei Candle Art in due course. I wanted to bring an unscented range first to show that candles can be more than just scent. Each candle takes several hours to make. They are made in small batches, hand dyed and poured often in several stages. Made with high quality mineral wax, with added white beeswax to prolong burn time. My pillars are designed to burn neatly and evenly down with a calm flame, this is especially so if the candle care instructions provided are followed. To help the environment packaging is Plastic Free.
