Little decorative plates…
I love playing around with plates. I get excited curating a wall in my own home and the idea of mixing and matching a wall space with lots of different plates in endless styles/colours/patterns really excites me. I have so many ideas whizzing in my head at the moment I find it hard to focus my brain on one task at a time. I really want to push this idea further in the coming months. Using clay as a canvas gives me the creative freedom I need to be expressive and playful. I’ll be taking these little plates with me to local markets from November but if you are interested in any please DM me. These ones are £30 each ❤️

It’s taken a while for me to finally realise a hard truth.

As a potter I never wanted to be defined by one thing that I make. Part of this crazy creative journey I’ve been on is the carefree naivety of just making things that make me happy and not trying to please everyone else. It has become apparent however, in the last year though that my work has and will always be drawn to the chicken. I’m not sure if it’s their wonderful form, their hilarious personalities, their head movements, silly struts, quirky noises or just the simple beauty of them (not forgetting how they are able to create wonderful eggs!) but I have succumbed to their irresistible charm and I am now officially the clucking mad chicken lady……I will take the crown and wear it proudly! 👑🐓

With a bit of kiln magic this decorative plate just swooped out of my kiln ❤️🦉🧙🏼⭐️✨

Today I’ve spent most of the day faffing with my new slip jugs. I’m never more excited than when I decorate clay with slip and peel back the layers. I almost prefer it to the kiln reveal after the glaze firing 🔥.
There really is something about working with raw clay that is so satisfying. Layering the textures and colours and still feeling the softness of the clay on a functional form is really just so magical ✨🪄
