Come and find St Ives Artisan Market at The Island Centre 10am-4pm every Wednesday and Sunday.

Looking for something sweet, traditionally Cornish, something to bring back memories or a gift for someone special? Then check out .baker with treats for now or to take away you can find her with us every Wednesday and Sunday with her ever changing menu. She also does occasion cakes and orders!

'The Littlest Baker, Is a small home based bakery in Carbis bay but a St Ives local, my family can be traced back to a German smuggler who decided to stay and married a local love in 1850s.

We have a great love of all things cake! This began when I was very small, i started to bake with both my Grans and quickly gained the "ansom little baker" title, so only fitting that it should be the name to crown my bakes. I love to use proper, good quality ingredients as local as possible. All of my bakes are made from scratch in small batches to keep them fresh, using my own recipes favourite flavours and experience from many years of bakery and celebration cake making. My most treasured bakes are my Cornish Heavy cake and Ginger Fairings as these recipes have been handed down through my family and are some of the first things I ever baked and very much still enjoy straight out of the oven!'

Which will you try first? And which will you come back for?!

Come and join us this week or any other week at St Ives Artisan Markets at The Island Centre 10am-4pm.

Sarah joins us every other Wednesday throughout the year with her creative mosaic trays perfect for your Cornish Cream Tea to sit on!

'I moved to Carbis Bay many years ago and the clear Cornish light and colours ranging from subtle to startling were a revelation after growing up in the north of England. They are a continuing source of inspiration for my trays decorated with mosaic. Mosaic is just one of my artistic interests, which include needlework, pottery, painting and photography. All are influenced by Penwith – its colours, shapes and textures – which stretches from St Ives to Land’s End.
All my work is unique, each piece taking many hours of work. Much time is spent on each design before the process of sticking and grouting can follow. Careful choices during production will show in the effect of the finished article. My trays are suitable for general use and are made to last.
I love being at the artisan fairs, finding great enjoyment in the camaraderie of fellow crafters and speaking to prospective customers, many of whom have a deep appreciation of the creative impulse.'

Come and see the light bouncing off the beautiful colours in person with us on Wednesdays 😀

Every Sunday sees a host of different makers at St Ives Artisan Market at The Island Centre.

This week we are joined by the incredibly tallented . Sophie joins us regularly on Sundays bringing her artwork as originals, prints and cards. If you're looking for the perfect reminder of Cornwall look no further.

'I am a watercolour artist based in West Cornwall. Colour plays a huge part in my work and I use a very limited palette of only 6 or 7 colours for each painting. I paint many recognisable Cornish coastal scenes as well as focusing on inland Cornwall and the stunning woodlands and hedgerows. I produce my work as originals, framed prints and cards.'

Not sure where The Island Centre is? It is the old school building next to the island car park, right between Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beaches. On market days you can follow the signs starting at The Sloop car park. 😀
