Lorraine Field Artist

Lorraine Field Artist 🎨 Oil painter. For those who’ve lived, loved and endured. Paintings from experience that hold memory, meaning and calm. Painting has always been my sanctuary.

After cancer, I found the courage to turn that sanctuary into a way of life, creating art that brings calm and connection to others.

At Christmas, everything seems to come back to togetherness.
Sharing a space. A moment. A life.

These paintings are about quiet love —
the kind that lives in glances, familiar silences, and being there.

Because in the end, it’s the moments we share that stay with us.

We’ve all had seasons when we felt like the ugly duckling.

Out of place. Unsure where we belonged.

But time, patience, and the things we return to for comfort shape us into something new. Into grace.

That’s the story behind ‘Becoming Grace’ a Stratford swan, painted in sienna, blue and white, now reimagined as a cushion you can hold close.

✨ Available in two sizes and two fabrics. Link in bio or see website.

We all know the story of the ugly duckling; the one who never quite fit in, until one day it grew into the most beautiful swan.

Haven’t we all had seasons like that?
When we feel out of sorts, unsure where we belong. Starting a new job and not knowing anyone’s name. The first weeks of retirement, with too much time and no idea how to fill it. Even moving house or other moments of change, when we wonder, what now?

Those times remind us to return to what we’ve always loved. To find comfort in the familiar. To grow into something new.

That’s what this piece “Becoming Grace” is all about. A swan, serene and sure of itself, painted on Stratford’s waters in a palette of raw sienna, blue, and white. A symbol of beauty emerging from uncertainty.

And now, printed onto a cushion, it becomes something you can hold close.

✨ Available in two fabrics (linen or faux suede) and two sizes, 18” & 24”.

🛒 Link in bio to bring Becoming Grace home.

We all have those places, don’t we?
The ones we turn to when life feels heavy. A favourite cove, a woodland path, a quiet bench; somewhere that wraps us in comfort and reminds us we’re not alone.

For me, that place was Porthgwarra in Cornwall. Over the years, its colours, its cliffs, and the rhythm of the sea became a welcome comfort. Maybe you have your own place like that too, a spot that holds memories, restores calm, and makes the world feel safer for a while.

And when someone looks at this piece and simply says, “Beautiful,” I know it’s stirred something in them too. 🌊✨
