Making personalised wooden name tags with the Genmitsu Cubiko 🪵

From carving the names to cutting out each tag, I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the results. The lettering comes out crisp, and the cuts are clean, giving each tag a great finish.

Always satisfying to see a piece of wood turn into something personal!

Thanks to for sending over the Cubiko and giving me the chance to put it to work in my workshop! 🙌

First test with the LaserVii M1S 🔥

I wanted to start with something simple, so I engraved and cut one of my Longo Woodcrafts business cards to see what the machine could do. The engraving detail and cutting quality really impressed me!

The M1S was supplied with some great optional extras:
✅ 24W laser module
✅ Honeycomb bed
✅ Riser kit
✅ Air assist pump
✅ Camera module for easy positioning

One thing I really like is the enclosed design — it helps keep the smoke contained rather than filling the workshop.

This is just the beginning. I’ll definitely be putting the M1S to work on more projects in the future and seeing what else I can create with it.

🪵 Slow motion of the CNC milling a solid maple clock body. 🕰️

The wood chips flying, the cutter moving through the maple and that satisfying CNC action in slow motion. ⚙️💨

🌱 A little project for bringing some greenery into the workshop.

This plant propagation station is made from solid mahogany and maple, built in a layered sandwich of mahogany, maple and mahogany. 🪵

It holds three small propagation bottles, each sitting in its own circular slot. What makes the design a little different is the raised circles, set at different heights and supported by round maple rods.

Simple materials, but plenty of detail in the design. ✨

🕰️✨ The final result!

Three unique clocks, each combining a solid maple body with a different exotic wood face — ebony, koa and rosewood. The contrast between the woods looks even better in person; the colours and grain really don’t come across properly on camera. 🪵

All three are now ready for the charity raffle, with each clock going to a different winner. ❤️

🕰️ The three clocks are finally coming together.

Ebony, koa and rosewood faces, each paired with a solid maple body and their own unique shaped base. The 10° angle gives each clock a subtle tilt, while the different feet give every piece its own character. 🪵✨

Three individual clocks, all made for the same charity raffle — and each one will go to a different winner. ❤️

🕰️ Two more clock faces taking shape on the CNC, carved from beautiful ebony and koa. 🪵✨

The bodies are made from solid maple, and a third clock with a rosewood face will complete the collection.

All three clocks will be part of the same charity raffle, but each clock will be raffled separately — giving three different people the chance to take home one of these unique pieces. ❤️

More to come as the final clock takes shape…

🕰️ Carving the clock faces in solid walnut for a couple of new clocks. Alongside the usual design, I also made a new round version this time. Love seeing the details come together as the carving takes shape. 🪵✨

This batch includes the classic design alongside a brand new round version, all CNC carved from solid maple and finished by hand.

Every piece starts as a simple block of wood and is crafted with care from start to finish. 🌳✨

A new addition to the collection.

Solid maple body, koa face, maple hands and markers, finished with a hidden magnetic base that holds the clock at a 10° angle.
