A Little Bit Fancy

A Little Bit Fancy I create beautiful cushions, blinds and curtains. Reupholstery is also part of my service. The world pandemic has changed us all.

It has caused me to stop, consider and change. Change what I do and why I do it.

Hello, I'm Sarah, the founder of 'A Little Bit Fancy'. Having been a self employed home carer for some years, I paused to consider my next venture - what would I love to do?

'A Little Bit Fancy' started as a little bit of fun but has blossomed into something so rewarding, so fulfilling. Something far beyond my expe

ctation. I am blessed to be able to do what I do. We strive to being masters of our craft. Our commitment to quality, handmade products, incomparable customer service and care keep our customer community coming back again and again. Endeavouring to be constantly evolving and diversifying, we are continuing to expand our offerings based on how we can best serve our customers. Thank you so very much for choosing something A Little Bit Fancy today.

What can I say, this project was an absolute dream,

cottage top, interlined curtains with contrasting top edge!

Interlined roman blinds with contrasting bottom edge!

Stunning linen rope holdbacks!

Beautiful 50mm poles!

And to finish the look 2 bespoke lampshades made from the leftover fabric.

The fabric is also from the wonderful Meg Morton which is a lovely to work with and a total showstopper.

My client had purchased 2 sets of marks and Spencer’s Bouclè curtains…..

”can you use them to make me a set of curtains for the kitchen Sarah?”
Answer: “Yes I Can!….i can also use the leftover to make 2 blinds, a box cushions with matching scatter cushions and a cottage top curtain for the awkward door in the bedroom”!!!

This job has it all, striped blackout lining that looks so cute from outside, a lovely Cameron fuller portiere rod with a very cute cottage top curtain and to complete the look a lovely silent gliss wave track in black.

The fabric creates a cosy space in this beautifully converted barn, giving you the opportunity to shut out the world, safe in the knowledge that your home looks as lovely from the outside as it does on the inside.

So today I had the absolute pleasure of delivering this much loved chair to my client.

She has a theme running through her home using fabrics from a lovely store. She really loves their furniture but just couldn’t bring herself to throw away a perfectly sound and comfortable chair. So, I recovered it in fabric recommended by the lovely ladies at Susie Watson, in a style that suited.

She is absolutely overjoyed and I couldn’t be happier.

This particular project is the reason that A Little Bit Fancy came about…..taking something tired and injecting a new lease of life, saving pennies whilst reducing landfill.

Another lovely job completed to an extremely high standard, simply stunning. Also delivered are 4 rejuvenated dining chairs.

Simply perfect, and A Little Bit Fancy 🧡

So, friday is usually our fitting day, it can be nerve wracking, the moment when you know that the drops you took are right, the track fits perfectly and everything goes like clock work…..and this Friday was no exception.
A beautiful set of full length pinch pleat curtains and a cute little Roman blind.
The curtains are ceiling mounted on a gorgeous Silent Gliss track.
I have never worked with fabric from The Pure Edit but it was lovely, such great quality and lovely designs.

My client is overjoyed, Andy has flexed his expert fitting abilities and I am beyond proud with the results.

The beauty of A Little Bit Fancy is that the entire project is seen through from start to finish by me. From the measuring up, advising and supplying tracks and poles and all of the making. Andy (my partner) fits all of my work which is done to the highest standard, which makes a difference to the result, believe me poorly fitted or unsuitable poles or tracks can ruin the results.

We celebrated with a cake and a coffee from The Curator in the stunning hope cove, and relax 🧘‍♀️ ☺️

The sunshine is always so very welcome, but unfortunately furniture in the full sun may not agree. Fabric can become faded, brittle and holey….but so long as the frame is unaffected there is hope….

Take a look at these 4 beauties, stripped down, new padding, matching buttons and piping and a perfect pattern repeat means that these chairs are ready for many more years of service and are taking centre stage once more for that view to be adored.
