Don’t just hang artwork on walls…let’s see what the cool kids do…



Wall art is a perfect way for adding texture and depth, as always, go BIG and watch the space transform. Be sure to layer it up with plants and lighting to really bring it into play.

Not just for texture, abstract art is a great way to introduce colour to walls (and spaces!)

Leaning artwork is one of the coolest tricks in the book! Create balance with other “wall stuff” like shelving higher up, and floor lamps and plants low down.

Another cool house hack- lower your artwork and pull a few key items together and your space will instantly feel so much more curated than if your art was half way up the wall on its own.

Where you do have wall space between furniture and your artwork, bridge the gap to stop it looking “plonked” on the wall without a thought.

Use oversized artwork on shelves too- playing with scale is another key way you can create the “cool home” effect!

Things we do as an independent retailer that set us apart from chain stores…

We are more than just a shop.



Our local printer isn’t always the cheapest option- but they’re around the corner from us, they have real people there to help us out, and quite often they print our jobs THE SAME DAY! We feel lucky having that here in Saltburn (for last minute panic jobs!), so we use them 😘

Sometimes night shifts in this Victorian building can feel creepy, we’re glad our founders can come along and keep us company on lonely late shifts 🐾

We work, but we also have fun every day cos we love what we do 🧡 we also miss each other and are glad to come back after holidays!

We know more than anyone that you can’t always tell if the rug is right for the space- so we’ll happily let you give it a try before you commit to the purchase!

We’re so grateful of these guys, we’ll never let them unload without offering a cuppa.

Essential. Always happy to handle cute dogs if you’re solo!

Hopefully we’re teaching them about the real world and we live that they have a greater understanding of our world too. Don’t be shocked if you’re served at the counter by a 7 years old. (We do pay them, promise!)

Goes without saying. We’ll never watch you struggle.

The biggest one, the whole reason we are doing any of this.

Some days we chat to folks and it obvious we’re the only human they’ve spoken with that day. We always have time to catch up and hear your stories. And we will ALWAYS provide the hugs when you need them most 🧡🫶🏼

Lighting is key! And there’s a reason our Iris lamp is a bestseller!

Lighting often gets hung around at one level in most spaces- you need to mix it up to create warmth and interest.

The Iris lamp does just that, she provides a lovely subdued glow thanks to her linen make up, and her oversized nature means she throws that light at a perfect height most spaces are lacking!
