Get to know - Ivy and Lilly Yarns

Lisa is the independent dyer behind Ivy & Lilly Yarns based right here in Scarborough! She has a gorgeous selection of 4 ply, merino, mohair and more, perfect for socks and they don't hang around for long! 🧦

"I’m the founder behind Ivy & Lilly Yarns, named after my two Nana’s, who were my biggest inspiration. My world has always been very colorful, and as a child, I collected all sorts of strange, colorful objects. I kept them in glass jars—colored tissues, eraser rubbings, and threads from fabrics, all lined up in a colorful mix. Growing up, one of my Nana’s taught me to knit, and from there, I dove deeper into color. Decades later, I started making yarn by spinning fibers, teaching myself how to use both a spinning wheel and drops spindle - a natural progression as I grew my hobby and turned it into a business.

I couldn’t afford the yarns I loved, dyed by indie dyers, so I began making my own. My yarns are a personal expression, all hand-dyed by me. Now, each skein is a reflection of that lifelong passion.

Every day of my life knitting and crochet keep me grounded—in a world of chaos, this remains my inner colorful peace."
