I'm so grateful to The BellyRub Bar and Eatery for organising this event for me to help with my Skillswithlils Christmas 2026 fundraiser and I get to be a jidge, I'm so excited 💕

Our fantastic friends at The BellyRub Bar and Eatery are hosting an epic Pub Grub Competition on Sunday 1st November.

Every single penny raised—100% of category sponsor money and sales of the competition grub—will go directly to supporting the fundraiser.

Event Details:

Venue: The BellyRub, 130 Victoria Road, Scarborough, YO11 1SL

Sunday 1st November
2:00 PM: Entrants arrive
2:30 PM: Judging gets underway
3:00 PM onwards: Doors open for drinks and sales of the competition grub to the public

No reservations needed—just squeeze in, grab a drink, sample the fantastic grub, and support an amazing young lady Skillswithlils doing vital work for our town this Christmas.

Dad surprised me for my birthday, we ordered 2 bags and I finished the last of it off today.

Had no sauce with this one but yesterday's was immense 💓

POST-RUN REFUEL: Scarborough food tour edition!

​After crossing that Junior Great North Run finish line and heading back home to Scarborough, me and my dad had worked up a serious appetite. Running miles on sore knees definitely earns you a feast!

​We headed straight over to one of my absolute favourite local spots— TOPS Chinese restaurant Scarborough on Falsgrave! The service is always so lovely, and the food? Absolutely 10/10!

​Here’s what I ordered to refuel:
🍗 Starter: Fen Chicken (unreal flavour to kick things off!)
🥭 Main: Mango Chicken (sweet, savoury, and so delicious!)

​To top off a massive weekend, we popped into Xanders - Scarborough for a refreshing mocktail. It was the absolute perfect treat and the best way to unwind after such a busy, emotional, and unforgettable day.

WE DID IT!! 🏃‍♀️💨❤️ We crossed that finish line together!

​I honestly don’t even know where to start—mine and my dad’s emotions were running so high yesterday at the AJ Bell Junior Great North Run in Newcastle.
​It was so much hard work. Truth be told, I did zero training beforehand and my knees were really hurting, but my dad didn't let me give up for a single second. Even though he could barely walk after conquering all 24 miles of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks last weekend, he pushed through every stride by my side. And guess what? We managed to knock a whole 7 MINUTES off my time from last year!

​A huge shout-out to the event organisers —it was such a fantastic, inspiring, and well-organised day.
​Why do we put our bodies through it? It’s simple: our community. I love Scarborough with all my heart. Every step we took, every ache in our legs, was to make sure that local families, elderly neighbours, and anyone struggling or alone this Christmas gets a hot, delicious festive dinner and a reason to smile. 🍽️🎄✨

WE HAVE ARRIVED IN NEWCASTLE! 🏃‍♀️💨🏁
​Hi everyone, Lily here! 👋✨
​Our aprons are on, numbers are pinned, and we’re on Newcastle Quayside ready to tackle the Junior Great North Run.

​I’ve been pacing myself all morning, but now it’s time to hit the ground running! You all know my dad’s legs are still absolutely shattered after tackling those 24 miles across the Yorkshire 3 Peaks last weekend, but there was zero chance he was going to let me run sole-o today! He’s definitely running a bit low on steam, but we’re crossing that finish line together—even if I have to drag him the last mile! 🙈👟

​Every single step I take today is for our Christmas Miracle appeal. My goal is to make sure nobody across Scarborough is left lonely or goes without a proper, hot, home-cooked Christmas dinner and gifts this year.

🎄 Today is the Day 🏃‍♀️💨🎄

​Happy Saturday everyone, Skillswithlils here! 👋✨
​Today is the big day—I’m heading up to Newcastle for the Junior Great North Run , and the Skillswithlils Christmas Miracle 2026 is officially in full swing!

​The biggest challenge today might not even be the run itself… it might be keeping my dad moving! 🙈 He took on all 26 miles of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks last Saturday with the legends at Dads Behaving Madly, and he is still hobbling around and can barely walk. But he is determined to lace up his trainers and cross that finish line with me tomorrow, no matter how much he groans along the way!

​A massive, massive thank you again to my dad, Joe, and the entire 3 Peaks crew who handed over a whopping £830 to give our Christmas fundraiser the dream start! 🥾⛰️❤️

​Every single pound we raise goes straight towards cooking hot, fresh festive dinners and delivering gifts to families and isolated folks across Scarborough who need a boost this Christmas.
